We visited Hill House after first going to the Mackintosh house at the Hunterian and Kelvingrove museum in Glasgow. I think I gained more from the visit because of this. Highly recommended.

In a way it's difficult to remember that this is the real thing because mackintosh's designs are now so widely copied. However, this really is the real thing & so every room is worth lingering over & absorbing the details of the great man's architecture,...More

The main rooms that Mackintosh designed (library, drawing room, dining room, hallway, master bedroom) have been restored. They show how each room was a complete concept--furnishings, wall and floor treatments, lighting, fireplaces. Each is breath-taking in its own way. They seem so fresh, so modern....More

If you like Art Deco/Nouveau this is for you. A beautifully maintained house, showing how it was originally, some restoration but you get the idea. Nice gardens also.
