Interesting sculpture indicating the number of women and children left with no partners or fathers due to the worst disaster in Eyemouths maritime history. This will be here forever and is a reminder of what the sea can do.

A stunning monument of women and children to commemorate fisherman that were lost in the great storm off the coast of Eyemouth. Lovely benches and a view of the harbour from here too.

A beautifully sad sculpture of the wives and children (of the 129 fishermen from Eyemouth and the surrounding area) watching helplessly as their men drown in a storm in 1881.

A sobering moment. Beautifully portrayed. Thoughtful. Meaningful. Kudos to the strong women who stayed & reared their children following this disaster
