Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On of the most wonderful events of coming to Memphis, Tennessee is the Orpheum Theater because it has always given the touch of being on Broadway in many. many , forms of entertainment . The sound system is like no other and if you just visit the Orpheum you will know without question what it brings to Memphis , Tennessee and it has always carry the unquestionable culture character of the south and memphis with dignity of culture.

I went to see Frozen the Musical on a girls trip. The theater itself is absolutely beautiful, and the quality of the performances was top notch. However, the theater is not in a great part of town. I'd recommend parking in the garage nearest the theater to minimize the distance you have to walk, especially at night. Also, the air conditioning isn't great. We sat in the balcony & were actively sweating within the first 15 minutes of the show.

Second visit to Orpheum in Memphis. Is adjacent to famous Beale street. Just a couple of blocks from the Mississippi River. The theater is absolutely stunning. Restored to its original glory and being lost in a fire in the early 1900’s. Both visits have been to see Wicked. Blown away by both performances.

The upper levels are steep stairs for short legs. The seating is tight if you have a little weight on you. The staff is always above and beyond. The intermission is only 15 mins and gives you very little time to go with the long lines. Suggested you get that done prior to show. They do have drinks at intermission even in upper levels.

We parked right next door at the MLWG parking garage. You can reserve and pay ahead. You walk out from garage and the Orpheum is right next door. Felt safe in the area.

Beautiful historic theatre. It’s smaller than some theaters and feels intimate. It’s well maintained and just lovely. Right near Beale Street downtown. We saw Pretty Woman which was quite good. .

We were in Memphis to see the Beach Boys. We had not been to the Orpheum in many years. It is a beautiful building and has been updated and well kept. Long ago the rows were so close together that it was difficult to even get down them, but that problem has been fixed. Great sound system, good drinks, friendly people, and close to several hotels. Many folks simply walked to the show and back to their hotel We would go to another show there!!

Great venue in beautiful historic theater for touring shows and he summer movie series, among other events. The theater itself is worth some time to explore. Most seats offer excellent viewing.

Saw Bonnie Raitt here. Excellent venue for a concert. Great acoustics. Beautiful old theatre. Staff was very helpful and concessions were readily available. You were able to have snacks and drinks in your seats. We walked there so unsure about parking availability. I would definitely recommend for a show.

Visited for the first and last time. Parked in a well lighted lot directly across the street and no less that 12 cars had windows smashed out and burglarized. Cops said it happens every night there. Won’t be back in Memphis anymore.

We didn't go in the building as it was closed. We wanted to see the stars in the sidewalk and take pictures of the outside and were doing so when a man approached us and acted like he was just passing by. He told us to be sure to go see the Elvis statue across the street because they were going to cover it up soon, which of course we didn't believe but we were planning to go over anyway. Then he followed us over there! He told me where to stand to take the best picture. If you stand there be aware that it places you in the best position for him and another of his cohorts to "trap" you between the handrail, a concrete wall and the two of them. They didn't act violent, but they did hit us up for money. We didn't give them any and all was well but it did feel a little threatening. Just be careful.

I used to love going to the Orpheum in Memphis until recently they decided to not show Gone with the Wind because they felt it might be offensive. What is offensive is that the Orpheum, by banning this movie, degraded the Academy Award that Mrs. Hattie McDaniel received for her role in the movie.
