Dixon Gallery and Gardens is a gem in east Memphis area. The main building consists of both permanent art collected by the Dixon Family and traveling shows. The gardens get better every year and are open year round. They have special events for families throughout the year.

The gallery, which also combines a former residence , has many beautiful pictures, some of which are by noted artists, such as Van Dyck and Matisse, etc. Be sure and see the huge and beautiful gardens, in addition. This is a popular place for weddings.

It was too rainy to see the gardens right across the street, which are supposed to be spectacular. But we did visit the museum and we astounded and the quality of the collection of great impressionist paintings. Well worth the visit!

This has a very super collection of Impressionist paintings, pewter and porcelain. The grounds are well tended and beautiful. The water features add an air of serenity. There was a wedding going on and the setting could not be better.

It is a beautiful gallery and grounds. Great Impressionist paintings. A definite highlight of the trip. The gardens are great to walk through, too.

This museum is glorious. A magnificent home surrounded by breath taking formal gardens and full of stunning impressionist art. The place was empty - we could take our time taking it all in at our own leisurely pace. Don't miss this one.

The amazing gardens were in full bloom and wonderful easy to navigate while keeping in the shade of the July heat. The gallery was offering an impressionist display of art, wonderful and delightful tour directors offer answers to May questions. This was a wonderful afternoon to get out of the July heat and still enjoy the outdoors and beauty not... More

maybe im just spoiled, but the gardens were unimpressive. pretty, but not worth paying to see, and the museum was on the sad side. most of the paintings are very small, and unimportant. i can see how this would be a fantastic place for a wedding, but it was just a waste of money and time for me.

Thank morganlily
