Took our grandsons, 3 and 7 on a Sunday afternoon. There is a gift shop where you can buy boats to float down the river. We were there a couple of hours but they could have stayed longer! The rental boats there looked quite nice but we didn't have time to try them out.

Rather disappointing with mud island, dated, scruffy and in need of updating, more facilities and entertainment needed to attract more people, it needs reviving badly!

You don’t always get a chance to walk the Mississippi River from its confluence with the Ohio River to the Gulf Of Mexico in one day, but the River Walk at Mud Island is the way to do it---on a smaller scale, of course. The river in miniature covers the distance from Cairo, Illinois, to New Orleans in five blocks.... More

neat and different kind of place to visit. Found it educational and worth the time to stop and explore. Get right up close to the river and learn

Well, I'm going to qualify my review by saying that with the exception of one place to get "bar food" and one gift shop, all of the other places on the island were closed for the season. The temperature was in the mid-70's. They might want to re-think that policy; people were bored after a few minutes. You should call... More

The park is a wonderful concept and explains so much about the Mississippi River and the towns along the way. If you are travelling down/up the Mississippi the park gives you a great introduction. But the representation of the river is looking a little tired and needs some maintenance. The museum within the building is excellent, especially the representation of... More
