Our family went to Shelby Farms because it was relatively warm and wanted to get out of the house. Shelby Farms has a lot of activities in warmer weather, but we just went to the playground. The playground has equipment for all ages and was in relatively good shape considering it was still winter/early spring.

Shelby Farms represents a wonderful opportunity to get outside and stretch the old legs while enjoying the scenery. The 1.75 mile paved path around the pond offers lovely scenery that will only improve with age, as time will grant the trees height and stability. Note that the grounds are dog friendly!

Shelby Farms is one of a handful of spaces with an urban/suburban setting. A good deal of effort has been spent on making the space accessible and enjoyable. It is walkable and can be enjoyed on bikes, too. It is a wonderful heritage space, compiled by a local benefactor and preserved by the citizens of Memphis and Shelby County.

We go to Memphis nearly every Christmas to see the lights at the zoo and the lights at Shelby Farms. It is amazing every year that we drive through.

While Shelby Farms in Memphis has been a jewel of an "urban park" for decades, a the recently completed multi-million dollar renovations have made in into a real diamond. There aren't many "urban park in America that provide the variety of outdoor activities that are found at Shelby Farms - paddle boats, zip line, walking/hiking, cycling, horseback riding, paintball, disc... All the new things they have added to the remodel of Shelby farms is very nice. It's more inviting for family functions, group functions, and couples. Nice park for strolling through.
