Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had no idea this was a thing. After spending the day at Graceland and Elvis Presley's Memphis, we decided to take an Uber to the Peabody Hotel. When we got there we saw these beautiful carriages. About 5 of them lined up. We took some pictures and the drivers asked if we wanted rides. We weren't quite ready as we still wanted to see the Peabody. We DID ask how much. I don't remember the full range but the one I remember ( the one we took) was $55.00 for 15 minutes. After exploring the Peabody, we decided to take the ride because 'why not?'. We decided to go to the first lady who greeted us. Note, none of them were pushy or rude. they were all very pleasant and If I could afford it, I would have taken a drive with all of them, haha.

Even though 15 minutes seems like a short time, the drive felt long (in a good way) and worth it. Our driver asked us what we did today and when we said Graceland, she immediately popped the Elvis music on. She pointed out various famous buildings used in movies such as 'Silence of the Lambs' and 'The Firm'. She also stopped near the Mississippi river where there was a new art exhibit featuring heroes of the suffragette movement. She allowed us to get out and take some photos and look around for a few minutes. Then off we went again. It was an easy beautiful ride and I recommend it to anyone from lovers, kids, or just friends looking for something to do!

Carriage Tours of Memphis is a leisurely way to explore the city, rates can vary, and the quality of guides can vary. Our guide was young but knowledgeable, he had a good personality and finished our ride right at our hotel door.

We are glad you enjoyed your ride! We do have different tour rates based upon the length of time of the tour. And with all the great hotels and restaurants concentrated around the Downtown Memphis historic district, the carriages can pick up and drop off at most of them for no additional fee! Who needs a car when you can ride in style with us!

March 26th 2016, my 2 cousins ,friends and aunt went on a carriage ride for 1/2 an hour in Memphis. We were searching all over and finally found the carriages. Something drew me to Laura's carriage she was very nice and helpful. Her horse barney was really sweet and professional I was amazed at how well she trained to pull the carriage. I strongly recoomend asking for Laura she is amazing as well as her horse Barney. I can not wait to go back to Memphis this summer and ride the carriages.

I was so excited to take our girls on a carriage ride. We chose the 30 min tour because we love history and thought the girls would enjoy the horses ect. The guide was hard to hear, hardly had anything interesting to say. I was disappointed. Perhaps it would have been different if we had a different guide. The girls did love the carriage and horses though

So sorry that you didn't feel like you got much information from your driver. There are several different carriage companies that operate downtown, so without a name reference I can't say for sure if this was one of our carriages or not. But regardless we want you guys to enjoy the ride, and normally the drivers are happy to offer historical information along the way. And don't be afraid to ask questions, either, about things to do and places to eat downtown. Feel free to call us to book a reservation and mention that you are interested in the history. We can give you the works!

From the moment we were looking at a may and trying to work out what way we need to go, Billie approached us and help us find where we need to go, it was evident from that moment that we connected with Billie,
We chatted for some time, she invited us for a ride, we were unable to go that night and decided to go on the following night, when Billie seen us back there it was like seeing an old friend, we chatted then went for a ride, the carriage we spotless,
Billie knowledge was second to none, her horse Pia and dog Danny were so friendly.

we would recommend asking for Billie and tell her Shaun and Christine from Australia sent you. she really went out of her way to make us feel at home and very well versed on the history of the area.

Thank you Billie, till we meet again
