About
Myddfai Community Hall & Visitor Centre is a lottery funded state of the art Centre, built in 2011, set in the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park. It has huge hall, ideal for conferences, parties and Weddings as it now also has a Civil Ceremony Licence. There is a lovely café and gift shop at the Centre, both open 6 days a week (closed Mondays- but open Bank Holiday Mondays) There are several interpretation boards covering the History and Heritage of Myddfai village- covering the Physicians of Myddfai and the legend of 'The Lady of the Lake'. There are many lovely walks in the area and the beautiful St Michael's Church is just next door and definitely worth a visit.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Centre is located in the village which itself is surrounded by outstanding beautiful countryside with views towards the Black Mountains.
A good size free car park. The access to the centre from the car park is flat and level.
The Center has a Café selling a varied menu of freshly prepared local snacks and meals.
Service was a bit on the slow side but in the main this is because all the meals and snacks were made fresh to order and heck what’s the rush for in such a pleasant place. The menu was very resaonably priced, and all the food looked and tasted very wholesome
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The centre has a gift shop well stocked with Welsh and Wales theme gifts. The sort of trinkets and things that you could not possibly live without.
I am happy to recommend the Centre as a pleasant stop off when touring in the area.

Stopped briefly to find the way to the cottage we were going to stay at. They were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. The building is new and obviously an excellent local facility.

Terrific cafe and shop. We cycled there in arctic cold weather up and down hill and dale but this excellent cafe revived us. We enjoyed hot chocolate and the very best of homemade cakes. A really delightful place. The adjacent shop is full of good quality products too.

You’ll find the centre quite off the beaten track, along some single track road and in the middle of a small community. Ideal for walkers.
In the gift shop you will certainly be able to pick up something a little different, lots of local art, crafts, jewellery etc. Everything appears locally sourced - try the jams / marmalades!
The cafe serves a good selection of teas and coffees with hot and cold food options available.
The team are friendly and welcoming, with a special mention to Cheryl who was very friendly and informative and made us feel very welcome!

Recommended by a friend, this really is a hidden jem in this small village. Lovely seating with a marquee overlooking the western area of the Beacons and Black Mountains. The cakes are fabulous - home made scones, Welsh cakes and Barabrith. A daily selection of other gateaux styles - Guinness cake was very tasty. Lemon drizzle looked good too. Along with a selection of baguettes and salads it was a perfect afternoon stop. Really recommend the little drive off the main track to see this pretty village.
