The greens of this course are really fantastic. True, fast and very hard as you'd expect from a links golf and with lots of breaks. The best holes are from the 12th to the 18th. 16th in particular has a cunning clever green with run outs at the front and at the back. Despite the great greens, the front nine... More

I have played most of the Open venues and many other classic courses and I don't believe I have played on better greens than Prestatyn. The course is a classic links, perhaps not so spectacular as others in the area, eg Conwy, but an absolute joy and I hope to play it again. Excellent clubhouse with friendly welcoming staff and... We wanted to play a links course whilst staying in Chester. Prestatyn was chosen as being a true championship links course. I believe a qualifying round of The Open is played there. It is situated right on the edge of the sea but unfortunately because of a bank of sand dunes the beach and sea is not visible whilst playing.... More

We play this course every year when we are on tour in N Wales As usual our latest visit was not disappointing the course was in great condition with the Greens in excellent condition and it's quite a tough Championship qualifiers course so beware

This is a seaside course so suffers a bit and tests you if there is a wind. It is a long course but it is level so suitable for the less mobile. There are buggies for hire but at £25 for a round they are rather expensive. Overall, a testing but enjoyable golf course.
