Imposing castle sitting on a rocky outcrop in the centre of the village. An interesting story about its history and place in Welsh history but the splendid views along the coast in both directions are the real bonus. Inexpensive to visit and worth spending an hour here.

Nice museum at the bottom and beautiful views from the castle. Just be aware it's a hike up but well worth it for the views

Loved the castle steep climb but worth it. The audio visual presentation great aimed at kids but good laugh for adults too.

Love visiting castle ruins so had to go to this one. Not the largest of ruins but this is reflected in the lower admission price. It's a beautiful castle with impressive views and lots of opportunity to explore inside and outside. Excellent information and exhibit area inside and good entertaining information film. Clean toilets too.

Only £3.50 for an adult. Great views from top although it's a bit blustery in a windy day. (See picture for evidence) Worth a visit if you're in Criccieth

This ancient ruined castle is picturesquely perched on a hill top, overlooking the coast. It's interesting to explore and walk through the castle site...all very attractive. Good little gift shop.

Glorious views from beyond Harlech in the South East, all the way down the Llyn peninsula to the South West. Displays and film in entrance buildings bring the site to life and provide context; including comparisons with the other castles in the Welsh ring of defences. Only £3.50 for adults too :-)

After visiting many castles we went to Criccieth and what a nice change. Instead of just the grounds to look around you get the historic background as well that put everything into perspective. While not as fancy as some of the others it is more interesting as it had the background to the place. Nice views over the town as... More
