Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really beautiful walk, not difficult at all and the views are just outstanding. Definitely worth the effort. Took us about 1 hr 40mins, but with many, many stops to take photos and enjoy the view.

There are several hikes here. All of them are beautiful and none are that challenging. I would highly recommend.

This was a memorable walk, but sadly a lot of vehicles had overtaken the car park at the start of the walk (staying overnight when they were not supposed to!!!) so it was difficult to park. We eventually parked on the road nearby (not ideal), but glad we did as the walk turned out to be breathtaking for amazing scenery. We chose to do the route where you are walking towards the view of the estuary of Barmouth as that saved having to keep stopping and looking back, because the awesome view of the Mawddach River and the estuary were ahead of us for a big percentage of the trip. Well worth the effort and if the weather is good, the views look all the more spectacular.

This is without a doubt a fabulous walk, the views are spectacular, we went anti clockwise, the signs were easy to follow, it’s a little challenging in parts but nothing we couldn’t handle, I’m 66 and my husband is 70, we were fine with walking boots and poles, highly recommended

Not a lot to add to the other reviews BUT if you do this anticlockwise from the car park you must turn hard right (just before you get to the beginnning of the lake) up the hill behind stone wall (this is not waymarked or if it is we didn't see it). If you do it clockwise then as you walk up the side of the lake (on the LHS) you must turn right up the hill just before you get to the end of the lake. This has a waymarker post (with no sign) about 20 yarrds up the hill). If you make either of these turns correcty you cannot get lost. Beware that tthis is caalled the Precipice Walk for a reason!! Took us one and three quarter hours.

This was a great walk with amazing views but one section is extremely high and narrow. If you suffer from vertigo then don't do this walk!

I don’t do hills normally but this offered the spectacular scenery without the effort. Some of the paths are uneven so you need to take care but it’s an easy walk. It’s nice because it hasn’t been made boring with gravel tracks like a lot of the countryside. When we went it wasn’t remotely busy but I imagine if it was it would be tricky on the narrow paths. This is hands down the best thing we’ve done on this holiday and totally free, even the car park.

bit tricky to know where to go when you get to the lake area but we followed a step by step guide. did as group of 10 with kids aged 2(mostly carried on our back carrier) -16.. the 5 and 7 year olds needed hand or clothing holding where the precipice had steep drop to keep them safe but they all managed it perfectly! lovely views.. elderly were doing it too..very grateful for Trip advisor reviews that encouraged us to do this walk. took us 3+ hours as large group with little ones, and included at least two lakeside stops(one detour on the way there) and one on way back, for snacking and water play and plenty photo stops too.

Decent walk for relatively little effort. Needless to say, whilst walking the precipice one should take reasonable care. I’m going to knock a star off because in one or two spots Gorse bushes are encroaching onto the narrow path. Not good when you don’t have much room to avoid them. Would advise you wear long walking trousers.
