The east to west route up the Minffordd path and down the Fox path is wonderful. If you are unsettled by loose scree then the Pony path is a more friendly way down to Dolgellau. Make it a circular day by taking the T2 bus...More

Lovely walk, with a 700 metre ascent but on a very well defined path. Very windy towards the top with squally mountain showers, as expected. Nice to have the bothy near the trig point to shelter in. Would recommend sturdy boots and wet weather gear...More

We went up the Minffordd route, which was stunningly beautiful, a steep rocky path it’s a hard walk up. Make sure you have good walking boots and clothes as the weather can change quickly. Path was reasonably easy to follow. Make sure you stop and...More

Just a beautiful place which we were able to appreciate in the sunshine. So beautiful to see, can recommend stopping to appreciate the view along the road where there are viewpoints.

Been here a few times now and it never fails to be one of the most enjoyable walks. Being in the south of Snowdonia, is easily doable in a day if you live in the S/West. The walk itself is fairly strenuous (4.5-5hrs). If you...More

One of the most attractive mountain ranges in Wales with a lake half way up. While I'm unable to climb to the summit, the surrounding views from places such as Cregennan Lakes make the drive up there worthwhile. One is able to take several routes,...More

With a little trepidation the wife, 4 kids (girl 4 and boys 8,10 & 12) my dog and I decided to try and walk up our 1st mountain. We chose the "Pony Path" as this seemed the "easiest option." However it is still a very...More

What an excellent walk the Minffordd Tail is. The weather today was exceptional and the visibility was breathtaking. An excellent horseshoe walk and not sure why it has taken me so long to discover this walk, one of the best in Wales and arguably far...More

Yes! Our husky and staffie found it fine. As with any dog - I wouldn’t go up in very hot weather.
