We took the Myndffordd path with a 5 and 8 year old and made it all the way to the summit. It was definitively challenging for us inexperienced hikers, but absolutely amazing adventure. We were blessed with the weather and had beautiful and dramatic views....More

Brilliant hike up cader idris. Even with the snow and fog the climb to 900 meters was amazing. Definitely icy conditions and I would recommend hiking boots, water proof trousers and a rain coat.

Fantastic climb. The views all the way are out of this world. And when at the top....alot more wow. Go on you know you want to climb it.

Approached from the car park, north side, following the Pony path. This time of year lots of snow on top and landscape very dramatic. great mountain to bag

Sorry haven't a clue? Maybe theres a campsite in the area. we sometime ask the site owners and they've always welcomed us.

I'd say it is significantly more difficult. I found the Minfford path up Cadair Idris to be far steeper and the pathways have suffered quite badly from erosion whereas up Pen y fan, they have been excellently maintained... More
