    Recent visit to nantcol waterfalls
Amazing place very scenic & nice walks quite steep in some places so prob not great for people with mobility problems but stunning views when you get to top. Very tranquil place to get away from it all . Falls is accessed through camp site we payed £4 for parking you can stay as long as you want . There’s small hut selling refreshments toilets on car park so good facilities.

    Fantastic stay at Nantcol Waterfalls
We just got back from a fantastic week at Nantcol Waterfalls. The site was fabulous - just a few of the things that appealed to me: the scenery... SO pretty. clean ablutions, lovely walks, great fun for the kids to paddle in the stream on site, fire pits to hire and a little shop with the basic necessities and lovely ice creams. The staff were very friendly and efficient (and extremely patient with us when we changed our booking 3 times!) There is plenty to do just a short drive from the site - we visited Shell Island, Harlech castle and Portmeirion during our stay. The weather could have been better during our holiday, but we made the decision to carry on regardless and had a lovely time.

    Stunning views and great walk
We stayed in a cottage in Llanbedr and visited the waterfalls as part of a walk. We didn’t stay at the campsite so can’t review the site. The waterfalls are spectacular and well worth going to see. You enter the area by the river at the campsite. Here the ground is flat, the river runs slow enough that children (and adults!) can play in the water. As you follow the river uphill, the terrain becomes more challenging, not just the steep incline but it is uneven, rocky and slippy/muddy in areas. You need some good footwear if you want to get to the top end of the river and view the waterfalls. The views of the waterfalls and surrounding area are stunning. My nine year old really enjoyed the challenge. We saw many bird species including a Dipper which was great to spot! The little campsite kiosk makes a lovely cup of coffee!

ONE OF THE BEST WE'VE BEEN TO
My wife, and our dog Walter have been here for a week, and we have had a great time. This is one of the best campsites we have been to. It's clean, with all the modern conveniences, and most importantly quiet. On arrival, the friendly staff inform all guests of the site's NO MUSIC policy. This is a process that all campsite's should do, so as to assure that consideration is adhered to. The campsite is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside you could wish for, including rapid waterfalls and rock pools, within a flourishing woodland and lush Welsh landscape. Should you wish to venture off-site, there's various beach front towns to visit within a very reasonable distance from camp. We will definitely, without doubt, be back to Rhaedr Nantcol next year

    Wonderful Waterfalls
An unexpected delight. Well signposted, accessed via a narrow road. Large car park (£4 daily charge) next to a campsite, with the best toilet going! Spotless with the sweetest smelling air freshener. Picnic area around the lower part of the river. Short easy walk upstream where the water becomes more vigorous. The most impressive waterfalls may be accessed either via a more strenuous ascent over a stile over the wall or a gentler ascent via a gate. Certainly worth the effort whichever route is taken. Stout footwear recommended as the area can be boggy in places, but the wetter the weather the more impressive the waterfalls.

A really lovely part of Wales.
Myself, partner and our dog were actually staying at the campsite here so we had very easy access to the trails. The views of the waterfall and surrounding area were absolutely fantastic and all of the trails incredibly scenic which made for fantastic photos. At the start of the trail there is an ‘easier route’ with a steep path, or a ‘hard route’ with steep steps. Once past these, the trails are both quite easy, with no major hills. The ‘riverside trail’ was our absolute favourite, so much so that we walked it every day of our trip. We would absolutely recommend it. One thing to bear in mind if you are bringing dogs is that they MUST be kept on a lead when walked through the campsite. Unfortunately there were 2 instances where uninvited, off lead dogs came into our tent as they passed through the campsite. The campsite staff were very helpful with this issue. The car park was a decent size, the staff at reception were very helpful and the toilet was immaculate.

Raining, and we weren't appropriately dressed, (in the area for another reason) so we didn't walk past the top of the hill as it was very muddy. Nevertheless, the falls are stunning.

Have just come back from what i can describe as mixed feelings. Will I go back? Maybe. Please do not get me wrong the place is beautiful with beautiful water falls and woodland and lovely walks. The people who runs the site are lovely people and helpful. Especially the young lad. We stayed in plot 12 which is a hook up plot right in a corner at the end by the metal gate. What spoilt it for myself is the plot is in front of a field , the field behind is for crazing sheep who are quite a pleasure to see and listen too. But i am sure the sheep like myself are and was put of by the numerous children who wanted to play on the rope swing attached to the tree in this field. Now again please do not get me wrong i like children and they should be free to enjoy themselves but problem is they run behind and across the tent pulling the electric cables out and tripping on the guy ropes and pulling them out as well which to the annoyance of my husband had to keep putting it all back. Also the dog who very kindly left its calling card behind the tent which my husband then trod in in the dark trying to re attached the cable. so tip 1 try to avoid plot 12 or farmer to save sheep wandering in to the campsite please take down the rope or lock the gate as we had to shut that as well many times because little ones are not interested in shutting gates. Maybe just a suggestion a small play ground for the kiddies would be a super idea. The showers are ok and you have to buy a card for 50p that lasts 5 minutes. I can see why this is charged and not added into the total. There are only two washers and dryers costing £3 and £1 . If you can waits to take home your dirties i would suggest you do as the washers are not that great. When doing your washing up please buy a bowl as there are no plugs in the metal sinks and take a bag to put any odd bits of food as there are no black sacks, bins or paper towels.
Wi-Fi is £10 for a week. The shop where you book in only sells basics like milk, crisps and sweets, coffee or tea so you will have to go the 2 miles to the local shop or 7 miles for a Tesco.
The site hires out a fire pit and does allow camp fires . Included is wood and lighters.
The little pool area where the children play is really lovely but make sure you wear some kind of footwear and it is rocky.
Be prepared too meet vehicles on the way as the lane is vey narrow, one vehicle wide and if you have gone passed the side stop then your best reversing techniques are required.
Over all a lovely place very peaceful as music is not allowed which is good.
Enjoy your stay.
Yes i would go back but not to plot 12.
