Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bit sad probably, but have wanted to cross this since seeing it every month for about 8 years many moons ago. Wasn't disappointed. What is probably 'just a bridge' to some people was a lovely, unspoilt little river crossing for us.

We lived reasonably near, but have never been over this bridge. A novel treat. Those who have never been over a wooden bridge or used an old toll road - yes it is rackety, yes you may have to reverse, and again, yes, ALL travellers have to pay to use private toll roads.

What a wonderful reminder of local heritage. Deliberately chose to use it to support the cause. Lovely staff on the kiosk, but be minded when closed it’s gated

Delightful wooden single track toll bridge that shortens the journey to Barmouth or Fairbourne depending on the direction. Extremely picturesque with the George III Hotel nearby. A railway line once ran along the frontage of the river here. A cheap fee and a friendly chat if quiet. Closes early eveing.

Amazing and fantastic location. Walks from the door in every direction. Good accommodation on 1 level. Pub 1 min stroll away and private outside seating area opposite the house, with a view of the estuary.

A holiday starts not on arrival but also the journey, a slight diversion on the way to Barmouth, stunning photo opportunities if that's your thing, lovely lady was really friendly, it still only costs 80p to cross, if there hadn't been another car behind we would have chatted to the Lady for longer. Haven't been in the area for a few years but we're back again in a few weeks and will no doubt enjoy another crossing here! It's like time has stood still.

take a walk or a drive over the bridge or just sit in the George and watch the cars go over. the bridge remains open to pedestrians by way of honesty toll out of hours. Large fish can sometimes be seen in the waters below.

Still privately owned after 140 years, this old wooden single track bridge with its sole purpose to shorten the journey from Barmouth and north to Fairbourne and the south. Not a great saving these days when driving, but a considerable time sav-er 140 years ago when walking or riding a horse. Very picturesque.
