Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The problem with this beach starts with the long drop down from the board walk and then runs on in to the sand and the grit and so on. It isn't even the best beach locally.

Stayed in a little airbnb bungalow 5 min drive from the beach. Had an absolutely lovely relaxing 5day stay. Bungalow was clean and comfy...bottle of wine on arrival. Was the perfect base for all the the things we wanted to visit. Would def recommend and stay again

48 years of going to Pwllheil in our summer holidays and this year we have been met with loads of parking tickets and also a speeding fine, the carpark in question has always been a free carpark but it seems now it is not and the speeding ticket was for 2 MPH over the limit.
Welcome to Pwllheli the advert says but it does not say we will get your money one way or another.
Not for us Pwllheli council we will be going some where else on our holidays now.........

Nice enough beach for a stroll backed by grass and dunes but lacking the facilities of the smaller towns further up the coast.

This was our second time in Pwelli, we stayed in the same flat overlooking the sea on The Promenade. The first visit we used it as a base to travel up to Anglesey for the day which was stunning in itself. Another day we took a drive over to Snowdon and went up on the train. Everything we needed was within walking distance from our accommodation whether it was to stock up on groceries or pop to the local town for an evening meal. You can walk around the coast in either direction very easily. The second time w3 stayed we took the train down to Aberystwyth for the day and travelled up Constitution Hill on the mountain railway, a short but pleasant ride. This second trip we didn’t use the car for the whole week as again everything we wanted to do was central to where we were. We were able to watch dolphins and gannets diving from the bay window so staying was an absolute pleasure.

Pwllheli beach on the whole is lovely, long stretches of sand to explore and clean sea to paddle in, however, some individuals think it's okay to leave their rubbish, including glass bottles and dirty underwear, lying around. Absolutely disgusting!! Someone had been camping on top of the rock at the harbour end of the beach and abandoned the tent and their bags, literally, of crap. What makes these people feel they're entitled to spoil a beauty spot with their selfishness!
There's some maintenance required to a couple of the boardwalks from the dunes, one is missing some slats and another has a high drop at the end. broken ankle waiting to ha

Lovely beach, easy parking, beautiful scenery and close to the town. A great place for a picnic and a paddle.

I’ve visited this area for forty six years and cannot believe I have never visited this beach before. It is stunning. Beautiful sand , partly pebbled, clear sea water and lots of pretty shells. My grandchildren loved it. We had a picnic on the beach , paddled in the sea and walked right along the beach. Litter free and no dog poop. Saw jet skis and sail boats. Absolutely fabulous spot. This our new favourite beach.

More for walking than sunbathing as it is usually quite windy, and with even summer temperatures not normally above 20c it can feel chilly. But it is a lovely long stretch of sand
