    A positive experience.
Ian Walton is a highly skilled artist who offers personalised tuition in oil painting. I have attended Ian's classes and have created paintings that I am proud to display at home. Ian has a positive and a 'can do' attitude and places students at ease. Ian Walton is very helpful, friendly and approachable and will bring out the best in your creative ability.

Beaumaris Cultural Art Centre of Wales
Beaumaris’ standing as Wales’ Art Center is personified by a visit to Oriel. Ian Walton displays his own extensive works at this studio. He is most welcoming and not only expands on his own art but is extremely knowledgeable on the area and other local artists.

Ian was there working on an oil painting. Super nice chap and extremely talented. Enjoyed chatting with him about his work and the local area. The way he captures light in his seascapes is fascinating. Well worth a visit!

Ian created a wonderful view for us
Our children commisioned Ian to paint a view of our choice to celebrate our Golden Wedding. We visited the gallery several times to select a view of Moelfre from photographs which Ian took of the locality. We were delighted with the result. Thanks, Ian, for your patience and for a memorable painting

    A friendly welcome!
My teenage daughter, who has an interest in art, wanted to pop into the gallery as we walked past. Ian was very welcoming and provided a good insight into the process of developing his works. He also showed us how the quality of prints on canvass are now so good that you can hardly tell the difference between an original and the print (well apart from the price!). Sadly, we didn’t have the money or room on this trip for a purchase but I was particularly taken by his works on the sea and waves and when we come back to Anglesey in December I may invest in a Christmas gift! I would recommend a visit to Ian’s gallery on Church Street if you are visiting Beaumaris.

    Original artists' stunning paintings
My husband and I visited Oriel Beaumaris last year for the first time and met the artist Ian Walton who works from the gallery..so it was wonderful to see not only a great selection of his original paintings but also canvasses 'in progress'. Ian paints amazing seascapes, and we were both wowed by the rolling waves & scudding clouds,..and calm seas as dawn breaks or the sun sets. There are also some lovely landscapes of spring fields and snowy mountains...all stunningly painted by a very talented artist. A gallery very well worth visiting! I have also had the joy & privilege of doing a painting course with Ian, who is an informative and very patient teacher, selflessly sharing his talent and vast knowledge....& I have enjoyed every minute of learning!

    A gallery you must visit
Spent a good 1/2 hr looking at the paintings and prints. Some prints were so good you needed to be told they were prints. The 1/2hr also included a really friendly conversation with the artist/owner. We also had our dog (a Chow Chow) with us and we were all made very welcome. The sea scapes were mesmerising and there was one mountain scene I think we are now saving up for. If you are in Beaumaris you must call in.

An experience not to be missed
Ian Walton is a brilliant artist and more importantly a really lovely man. His tutelage is both patient and encouraging. I couldn't recommend his painting classes and his gallery more highly. If you visit Anglesey or live on the island, this gallery should be at the top of your to- do list .You really won`t regret it.

Really nice oil paintings, Ian was in the shop and he spent time showing some techniques. I enjoy painting sea landscapes in my free time and I really appreciated that Ian took time to share some advice!! So worth a visit!

Lovely little gallery in Beaumaris. Ian who is the artist was very friendly and welcoming. Ian even gave some very valuable information with regards to my own art.
If you’re after some seascapes pieces Ian’s oil paintings are fantastic, and he also offers prints.

Thank you for such a wonderful conversation on Saturday Ian and we will pop back and see you again hopefully soon.

There is a good selection of original paintings and prints, which are much cheaper. You can also chat to the artist about his work.
