About Anglesey Sea Salt Company - Halen Mon
An innovative artisan food company that lets visitors look behind the scenes of a family business and finishes with a tutored sea salt tasting. Our one-of-a-kind tour is recommended for anyone interested in salt’s place in our history, culture, food and in what makes Halen Môn Sea Salt a world-famous seasoning. The contemporary building sits well in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and houses a contemporary gift shop too, full of wares from near and far (you don't need to book a tour to visit the shop.) We also have an outdoor cafe - Tide/ Llanw - which always has cover from the elements and plenty of warming options. Free use of purpose built car park, cycle racks, quality toilets and fantastic views in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Only went to the shop, thinking that the produce would be fairly priced. Not the case at all. Most of the items were way more expensive (15%+) than in other local shops and on line. A nice shop, good selection, nice people, but when we saw the prices elsewhere we felt ripped off.

I only went in the shop. I thought if I go to the source I would get some sea salt at a good price. Unfortunately not. Exact same stuff is cheaper on Amazon

Hello and thank you for your feedback. We do not set out to be cheaper than our retailing partners because we do not consider that to be fair. We do not sell directly on Amazon and have no influence over their selling prices, or any other retailers'. Your review mentions only the prices in the shop; putting those aside, I do hope you enjoyed the experience.

This is a fantastic business and great product but unfortunately totally overpriced, anything you pick up has been given a price tag that only Floyd Mayweather could afford. £24.40 per 1kg makes it more expensive than gold . 1kg of pure sea salt can be purchased for £1.65 from elsewhere, outrageous.

Hello and thank you for taking the trouble to let us have your feedback. I am sorry you are so upset by the price of our hand-harvested sea salt and agree that you can buy salt much more cheaply (and indeed, more expensively) than Halen Mon. It's really like anything else in life: cars, olive oil, tea, holidays, etc all can be bought at a price level to suit the consumer. Finally, the price per kilo for gold on 26th August 2021, is just over £41,000 per kilo- I think we have a way to go for that ;)

With the current Covid restrictions there are no tours however we decided we would visit the shop which is open. Plenty of local products and of course Anglesey sea salt. We came for the gin which is made with the local salt. Staff were very nice and the shop is big enough for everyone to space out. Good Covid instructions at the door and one way system in place.
