Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My family and I have been coming here for years but Andy took us on a fascinating 3 hour tour of the Rhoscolyn headland and told us so many thing we didn’t know about the area. The focus was on geology but there was also a great deal of local history and fun stories and anecdotes. The walk itself gave some beautiful views of the coastland and the pace was not too fast or slow. Would happily recommend for a morning or afternoon activity. Bonus: we were also allowed to take our dogs with us!

Taken out by Andy around and about the coastline at Cemaes Bay .Perfectly pitched for our levels of ability. Andy has a great knowledge of the coastline letting the tides and currents do most of the work and made up the agenda completely to suit us as we went along . It’s the second time we’ve been out with Bactive ( last year at Rhoscolyn) and can completely recommend it as a safe and fun day out which can be as easy or challenging as you wish.

My daughter (11) and I had a fantastic morning with Andy and another family today. Despite the dismal weather, we had great fun and would highly recommend this activity.

We were kitted out with all the right equipment and were given all the instruction we needed as first time Kayakers! We had over 2 hours on the sea, visiting lots of different coves and even got within a few metres of some seals.

Andy is really knowledgeable about the local area and pointed out lots of interesting things about the coastline that we would never have known without him.

If you’re looking for something adventurous to do that’s fun, exciting and enjoyable then I this a great activity to take part in. Thanks for a brilliant morning! 👍🏻

From first contact to the activities themselves we found Andy knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. We were a large group of mixed ability and ages, nothing was to much trouble. Throughout the activities all commented how safe they felt whilst thoroughly enjoying the experience. We will certainly be back and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending B - Active to anyone looking for a fun filled outdoor experience.

Fantastic time yesterday, we were lucky to have calm seas and sun in October. Our first time in a kayak and not the last, Andy is knowledgeable, approachable and clearly passionate about his interests and an all round top bloke.
We hope to return to kayak and try the other activities next year. I would recommend this to anybody regardless of age or ability!

Andy treated us to a very interesting
and engaging GeoWalk around South Stack and Holyhead mountain. Great to hear about the geological history of Anglesey whilst enjoying the beautiful coastal scenery around the north of this amazing island. To have the surrounding rock formations that we have walked past countless times explained was an eye opener and to hear that Anglesey was one located near Antarctica was astonishing! The walk had plenty of breaks for those that needed it, and only lasted 4 hours. Would definitely recommend these walks.

We met Andy the instructor yesterday with our group of 2 dads and 2 children (9 & 11) and they all had the best two hours!
We booked a taster kayaking session and from the first communication with Andy, everything was great.
Due to poor weather Andy kindly changed the venue and it was perfect.
The children felt safe and not sure who enjoyed it more the adults or younger ones!
Andy provided all of the equipment needed and took the time to make sure he knew everyone’s name and they were all assured at every stage.
We will definitely be re-booking when we back on Anglesey and cannot recommend this company or Andy more.
Thank you for a fab morning

A wonderful introduction to sea kayaking in a gorgeous part of the world! We went on a family introduction session with our 2 teenagers. There was another family on the session, so a total of 8 of us including the instructor. All the equipment we needed was provided, and Andy quickly sussed out how confident we felt and tailored the afternoon accordingly. It was such good fun, and we all felt in completely safe hands. We will all be doing this again - we loved it!

What an incredibly rude middle class twit of a teacher who teaches the kayaking on roscolyn. I was minding my own on the beach getting ready to kayak and as he walks past with his group he starts nastily criticising my perfectly good life jacket because it isn’t one of the latest types. Obviously got self esteem issues if he tries to prove his worth like this. He is lucky I didn’t knock him out - then where would his group have been? Can’t be much fun he seemed like a real jumped up misery of a tutor. Put a paddle wrong and you will be a laughing stock no doubt. I should have punched him.l really.

Hi Sorry I have only just seen your review. I was very disappointed to read this, I run 90% of BActive sessions myself and I don't recognise the events you describe. We certainly don't engage in criticising people's equipment. We are one of several organisations that work out of Rhoscolyn and I'd certainly hope it wasn't any one of our instructors that you met. If you are back in Rhoscolyn, please get in touch. You'd be welcome to join one of our sessions for free to see who we are and what we do. Regards Andy Short, Owner
