PLEASE NOTE: OUR ESCAPE ROOMS ARE NOW CLOSED - WE WILL BE MOVING TO AN EXCITING NEW LOCATION IN 2024. Our escape rooms offer interactive and intuitive real-life adventure games for teams of two to six people. You and your companions are “locked” inside a room packed full of puzzles and challenges for you to work together to solve. You have just sixty minutes to unravel all of the mysteries and to make your escape.

We had great fun doing the Spy School escape room , it was well thought out and very much enjoyed by all . Being able to then enjoy the grounds , Birds of Prey and castle was a bonus .

Fabulous escape room! We were pretty hopeless, but the host was super helpful and gave us plenty of clues - though we still didn’t make it out in time! Had loads of fun though, and really enjoyed exploring the castle and gardens - all included in the ticket price. Also had a delicious lunch at Maria’s cafe - and her thick Spanish hot chocolate is to die for! Absolutely amazing!

Sounds like you had a fabulous day with us at Picton. Such a shame that we are now in our final month at the castle but hopefully we will be in new premises in the near future with more escape rooms to enjoy.

Attended as a family with a 8 and 10 year old. We did the Time Machine escape room and failed to beat it. It was very good and very clever. There were a few surprises we did not expect. Children did manage to solve the puzzles and It seemed fun for all ages, including adults. Some locks were a bit confusing but overall it was a really fun experience. I would recommend to families of all ages.

Thanks Martha and Martin - so pleased that you enjoyed your first escape room experience. We would love to have you pay a return visit but do need to warn you that this will be our last summer operating the escape rooms at Picton Castle. We are due to cease operation at the end of September before moving to new premises sometime (hopefully) in 2024.

We had the pleasure of experiencing the 'Mansion of Mystery,' an extraordinary Victorian/Steampunk escape room located at Picton Castle. Our chosen adventure was 'The Time Machine.' We completed the room as a diverse group of six family members spanning different generations – from grandparents to teenagers. With teamwork and excitement as our driving forces, we successfully escaped within 56 minutes, creating lasting memories filled with fun, laughter, and enjoyment.
What truly made our visit exceptional was the comprehensive package that accompanied the escape room challenge. Our entry not only granted us access to the mind-bending escape room but also offered a delightful journey into Picton Castle's enchanting grounds. We explored meticulously maintained gardens and had the privilege of visiting the captivating Welsh Owl garden and zoo. The bird display was a highlight, made even more special by the knowledgeable keeper who exuded genuine passion for the birds in their care.
While the escape room provided a unique and immersive experience, the extension into the castle and gardens was an unexpected delight. The limited glimpse into the mansion's interior was a fascinating addition to our adventure. The experience comes highly recommended, with the suggested time frame of two hours beyond the escape room itself. However, I found that this span was indeed too short, considering the charming Ovally Tearoom onsite. Our family ended up spending a fulfilling 3 to 4 hours, and we could have easily spent more time relishing the enchanting surroundings.
In conclusion, the 'Mansion of Mystery' at Picton Castle offers not just an exciting escape room, but an all-encompassing experience that caters to diverse interests and age groups. Our adventure in 'The Time Machine' was a resounding success, and the opportunity to explore the castle, gardens, and delightful bird display only enhanced the entire outing. This is undoubtedly an attraction that merits an extended visit to truly savor all the wonders it has to offer. We are eagerly looking forward to visiting again next year when we return to Pembrokeshire. Please consider adding more escape rooms, as we are excited to see what else is on offer!

Wow - thank you so much for your stunning and very detailed review Leanne. Would you like a position in charge of our Public Relations team? Seriously, you have done a terrific job in pointing out how amazing the Picton Castle experience is. It is one that we are very proud of creating. Sadly, changes at the castle mean that we are unable to expand which means relocating the Mansion of Mystery to a new home (with space to add more escape rooms) but inevitably there will be a bit of a gap before we are able to reopen. In the meantime our visitors have until the end of September to pay us a return visit if they would like to complete "the set" and tackle either the Time Machine or Spy School.

We had excellent time in the escape room. Staff were very friendly and courteous . Game itself was interesting and with few nice twists.
Definitely recommend if you like mental challenges, staff is experienced with giving you the right clue at the right time.

Well , firstly the positives- the room you first go into is great and really atmospheric and it sets the scene for what you hope will be a great experience.. the props are great !but the actual ‘Time Machine ‘ escape room was such a disappointment.. great if you like padlocks!! It was pretty much all padlocks either numeric or alphabetical… there didn’t appear to be any ‘flow’ To the puzzles either, you would crack one padlock and then find another clue which in turn related to something completely unconnected to what else was in the cabinet.. We had to ask for clues but to be honest we got bored.. This was our 7th room between us and all of us agreed it was the one we enjoyed least.. You may think that’s because we didn’t succeed in getting out, it genuinely isn’t.. we just enjoy doing them- but this was one padlock after another, very little variety in skills needed .. So certainly wouldn’t return. Often these things are better if you are really put into role by the person introducing you but our lad was ‘tired’ ( We asked if he was ok as he wasn’t smiling, hardly spoke to us, wasn’t very enthusiastic- and this is what he said) .. But at other escape rooms the person who greets you is often in role, quite often fancy dress- really enthusiastic and friendly so you all get into it , but not this day. So for us- definitely not the best escape room. Thank goodness we got free entrance into the castle/grounds/zoo etc as that was all great and at least we got some value for money..

We are sorry that your experience was so very different from that of the vast majority of our visitors who give us five star reviews and often declare us as being their best-ever escape rooms - including players who have tried many other establishments. It does sound like you caught one of our Games Masters having a very, very, very bad day! We will investigate and make sure no one else has a similar experience, ever!!

This was our first Escape room and we didn't have a clue what we were doing. We didn't quite escape but we had loads of fun together trying to work out the clues and we got just the right amount of help from Jade as we went along. We will definitely do another Escape room after this experience. All the family enjoyed it, which is a win for holidays with teens.
