One of the most magnificent of Britain's castles is the "birth place of the Tudor Dynasty." You can climb the 80ft Great Keep, descend into a pre-historic cave and look down into a prisoner in a medieval dungeon. There is also a cafe and gift shop. During school holidays there are falconry displays, historic re-enactments and family entertainment. The main exhibition rooms display models and weaponry as well as telling the story of the history of the castle. You can also visit the room that King Henry VII the founder of the Tudor Dynasty was born.

Me and my husband love Pembroke castle and all its history so when we saw them advertising a ghost tour we had to go. It was so much fun and something different to do of an evening. Howard was a great story teller and the atmosphere was just right.

Visited on a very cold, wet and windy day but the Castle and the guide (Katrina) were great. The boys enjoyed the size and scale of the castle with access to most parts. Warmed up afterwards in the cafe but found it strange they shut at 3pm when castle still open till 4.30pm.

We went in February half term and have been many times before. I always love walking around the castle and the exhibits. The cafe is great for tea and cake to round off the trip. This time there was a children's tour around the castle which our 4 year old loved and so did I! Lots of talk about knights... More

We spent some time browsing round the castle which was interesting and educational to see and touch the history Then went into the castle cafe and had a really good Lamb Cawl soup which was delicious and came with warm bread and cheese For a tourist cafe it was excellent food and friendly service Well done to all

There is quite a lot to see in the Castle but if you go join one of the free tours, we did and it our guide was both informative and entertaining. Not one for the feint hearted if you don't like narrow spiral staircases! but all together very worth while

Great tour of the castle in a group comprising of many young children. Our guide Howard was very knowledgeable without being dry, and was very patient while allowing the children to ask all kinds of questions. As a result, Pembroke castle is now up there with Raglan, Caerphilly, and Cardiff in both my sons list of favorite castles.
