We are incredibly saddened to read that you were unaware that we are no longer open in this location. This closure is not of the organisations doing and is not a position we envisaged being in. Sorry for the disappointment and any inconvenience caused. We are currently in a dispute with the premises landlord and are very concerned that he has allowed the buildings to degrade as he has, especially as he has benefitted from receiving a substantial amount of work done with public Heritage Lottery Fund money. It is noted on here and on our website that we are currently closed and we have always asked visitors to contact us before visiting. We are working tirelessly to find a way to continue this incredible volunteer-based project elsewhere. We (Seimon, Min and the incredible volunteers) are in the process of relocating to Kidwelly and have formed a 'Community Interest Company' as agreed back in 2017 and are now called The History Shed Experience CIC. Please keep an eye on our new Facebook page for further information.

We come to Laugharne roughly every two years and have visited the Tin Shed each time since its opening. We walked up to visit last week only to find it closed with a blue van blocking the entrance. We were looking forward to see the Lottery funded work completed on this visit. From the roadside, the new roof looks great! I bet the owner of the shed is very pleased with all of the renovations that the Tin Shed Team have been able to do for him. As it transpires, it has not been able to reopen for this season. This made me sad, when I'm sad, I eat, so I headed to the local eateries. Over several delightful meals and long cold drinks with several friends I have made in Laugharne over the years I asked why the museum was closed and was stunned that the owner of the property had not allowed it to reopen this season. My friends informed me of the sad and unjust situation Simon and the shed team have found themselves in with the landlord. Their disappointment was as much as ours. Staff of the three pubs and two restaurants I visited with my friends all told me how they have had many people comment on how sad they are to see this wonderful place come to such an end. I really hope the Lottery grant officials follow up on this closure after having our public money spent to renovate the old place for the owners benefit. I will miss listening to the stories about local people and their part in the wars, the old car and the privilege of being able to sit in it, sitting at the kitchen table in the cottage and looking through the cook books and thinking of all of the meals served at that table over the years. Looking at the fields and thinking of my grandmother and her time in the land army. Yes I may be able to do this in other museums but at the Tin Shed, with Simon and Min you were made to feel like you were more than an occasional visitor, you were more than a friend, you were treated like family. They valued our stories, our history and our memories became part of the experience for others that visited the Tin Shed Experience. I pray that Simon, Min, the guide with a Welsh name and his wife are able to relocate the wonderful museum and continue their work in remembering the men and women that gave so much to enable us all to live the lives we live today. I see via your website that you have a new name, The History Shed Experience. I wish you all the very best of luck in the future and be assured that the truth is out there in spite of a sad few individuals.

Take the opportunity to visit if you are in the area as it's a good snapshot of a period of history not seen in in this way in other ww locations. Make sure you give yourself enough time.

Oooh my god what has happened ??? We come down to South Wales twice each year. Discovered the tin shed about 4 years ago and always visit. This was the best museum we have ever been to. Wonderful staff with passion for what they did overflowing. It showed in what they did and the displays and talking to us the public.i know they had schools visit and the kids must have learnt so much that if would stay with them all their lives. Amazing displays - perfect in every detail. Our visit down there will never be complete again. I hope the tin shed may appear again or start up again as it's such a huge loss to the area and the whole if Wales.a great very very very large loss and travesty . The guys that ran this were amazing passionate and incrediably knowledgeable... i just need to go off and absorb this crazy loss .....
