Lovely walk along the lake side and crannog visit
Sep 2021
Lovely walk along the lake side, and interesting visit to the viewing platform overlooking the site of the 'crannog' - a ancient wooden lake dwelling, no longer there, but the platform is built as a replica of what the original may have looked like.

The best place to visit!
Sep 2021
We are so lucky to visit this beautiful place. The day was very warm and sunny. We spent all day and I would like to say - it's not enough for me. The lake was spectacular and calm. Swans and ducks, horses and dogs, cars and bikes and tourists, but you can't feel a rush. Just be careful, if you will choose a picnic near the lake, be aware of horses and Swans, they are ready to eat all that they will find in your bag. It was funny, but better stay away from them and take a place close to Caffè :) The best place, day and time! Highly recommended!

Beautiful setting
Sep 2021
Drove down to the lake whilst on a short break to Llangorse.
It’s absolutely beautiful,well worth a visit.
Called into the Lakeside restaurant for coffee, must be the worst coffee ever.It was very busy with walkers and people having snacks.
Set on the common, there is plenty of parking, public toilets a few metres away.Quite a long walk from the cafe to the lake, take your car down there, well worth a visit.

Beautiful spot
Aug 2021 • Family
We booked for 2 weeks during the summer, planning to take our boat and enjoy the lake. Sadly there was an algae bloom so we couldn’t take our boat, but we decided to go camping anyway. We were so glad we did. The campsite is beautifully situated, surrounded by stunning scenery. There is plenty to do in the area even without access to the lake. The facilities are good and clean (hot showers!). The people running the campsite could not have been more friendly or helpful. We enjoyed it so much we’ve booked to go back, and we’re not normally campers! Negative reviews about the algae bloom seem unfair. It’s a rare phenomenon and the campsite did everything they could to warn us of the situation and make sure we had the information we needed.

Great spot but very loud
Aug 2021 • Family
Lovely spot and very well-maintained. But the tent area is extremely loud well into the night and there seem to be lots of big groups booked right next to couples/families/walkers. Quiet after 11pm largely ignored.

South Wales holiday.

Hired a static caravan for 7 nights and was pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find a new and modern caravan. Walks from campsite into surrounding hills with views back to the lake and of the Beacons and Black Mountains.
Quiet and peaceful place. We checked the camping fields and they were well kept.
Had a great days fishing (hired boat). Excellent base for exploring the surrounding area and climbing the local peaks. Not too far from some lovely beaches too.
We had a wonderful break.

Beautiful lake

What a stunning lake! We paid for an hour on the lake but came back after 15 minutes as it was too hot! Haha! But it was still worth the money just to be out on the lake, taking it all in 😍

Waste of time on such a nice day...
Jul 2021 • Family
I wish I had read the reviews before coming here. As many others have said, there is no access to the lake, the trail goes part of the way and far from the lake itself. There is only a campsite, the boat rent and a cafe there. The lake is full of blue algae so you can only rent a rowing boat and wash your hands carefully if you come in any contact with water. The area is full of signs that your dog will be shot by a farmer if not on a lead. This is not a people- friendly place at all. If you don't want to leave your money here, there is no need to come, unless you intend to have a short, easy walk.

Disappointing
Jun 2021 • Couples
The only way you will be able to see this lake is if you take out a boat! There is no access for walkers. It is really just a campsite, carpark and toilet facility. I would not recommend a visit.
