Been here some years ago, but to be aware of what can, and has been done since - we are now alert to the planets limitations and we will survive. If not ........? Presence of students is heartwarming and were helpful. If a nearby river can be used to help save the planet, and clean the unit, and then return... More

It's always fun to go to the Cat center! We love the mole hole & the slide & all of the things that we needed to peddle, press buttons etc to make them work. My nieces would have preferred it to be a windy day so the chair would go up and down! Also, great free craft activities etc during... More

Dear Caryl, It sounds like you and ayour nieces had a great day, I am glad! We are a solutions based organisation so for us it is very important that our visitors have a hands-on experience in order to be able to apply what they are learning to their own lives, but it must be fun too! Arriving on a rather gloomy November morning and faced with a climb up the Garden Steps (the water balanced cliff railway does not operate in wintertime), we really wondered whether it would be worth the effort of the climb as well as paying our admission fee. The Garden Steps are of variable pitch and quite tricky to negotiate. The path... More

This is an intriguing, interesting, and educational place. With a vested interest in research, education and being a help and advise service for sustainable living. We were very impressed with the level of exhibits and advise available. There is also plenty for the younger ones to see and do whilst the adults are soaking up information. I am glad that... More

We were really excited about visiting here as we care about environmental issues and wanted to learn more. It is very informative and gave us ideas and inspiration for living a greener lifestyle. It was also good fun at times, lots to see and do around the site. The cafe was great, really enjoyed the hearty food and friendly service.... More

We visited on a miserable wet morning, but there are plenty of indoor exhibits to see. The site is well spread out so coats and good footwear are need if the weather is poor. Excellent technology displays and plenty of hands on stuff for young visitors. It certainly makes you think about the broader picture of sustainable technology. The cafe... More

Dear Dave, I am delighted to hear you had such an enjoyable visit. Ultimately we aim to re-enchant people with the natural world and challenge people's individual and collective impacts on it so, with that in mind, our site celebrates the local and natural elements, even on a wet Welsh morning. We decided to pop in to see what the future will be, but both myself and my wife were very disappointed as over half of the exhibition was closed, and it was over priced and also the train for the sight also was not Working. If you are into this kind of life style and like to hug a tree... More

Management response:

Dear Dave, I am sorry to hear that your recent visit was disappointing. Unfortunetly there is a fault with our Cliff Railway at the moment but as it is a bespoke structrue it can sometimes be tricky to find or make new parts if they are needed. It is arguably our most iconic feature so we are working very hard... More

We spent an enjoyable few hours here. Some of their pioneering work on eg wind turbines is now widely known, but we found the information on buildings and gardening/horticulture really useful. Loved the train! Good cafe and an excellent shop with great selection of books, jewellery etc - we spent far more than we intended! In all a lovely place... More

Dear Jeremy, Thank you for your review and I am glad that enjoyed your visit.
