Booking was easy, when we arrived we were met by Robert who took my booking and was a Guard on the day of our journey. A carriage was reserved for us, and our satisfaction and enjoyment seemed to be paramount. The children also had a go at the Build in Bricks event. Everything was fab and the staff were friendly and very welcoming.
The scenery was stunning. A perfect day out

Lovely day out riding on the steam train and storytelling with Chase from Paw Patrol. Our grandchildren enjoyed playing with the other activities provided and looking at the toys on the shop.

Very pleasant return trip on this narrow gauge railway featuring stock from around the world.

Consider the first class option if you wish to avoid wooden seats, and possibly a 4 wheel carriage, and sit in a leather seat. Only bookable from the LLanfair end and limited to 16 passengers per trip. For each pair of first class tickets you receive a copy of the excellent line guide which greatly enhances the trip, explaining what you are seeing plus a gradient cross section of the line featuring two of, if not the, steepest adhesion worked gradients in the country.

Spent a delightful couple of hours on the light railway. We boarded at Welshpool and really enjoyed the journey to Llanfair. We had an ice cream and bought some gifts in the shop before heading back along the track. The staff were very caring, and you could see how dedicated they were to preserving the heritage of the railway.
