Lunch Out whilst on Holiday

A lovely place to stop and eat whether it's just cake and coffee or lunch, there is always something different on the menu

Not many places to stop on the A483 for lunch or a coffee so was pleased too see the open sign ! But despite turning down the drive with two other cars/ potential customers we were still not aware the cafe was closed until we got to the door . Very disappointed, signs and website say you are .

Having visited the Potting Shed Café at the start of the season and mid summer, I can only express disappointment at the menu and prices and am no longer recommending.

I needed to break my journey and came across these gardens which have been laid out very imaginatively with a folly, statues, wooded area, lake and bird hide by the side of the river. A lovely place to stop and recharge before continuing the drive.

Beautiful stunning place, tranquil too.... and you can take your dogs!! :D Reasonable entrance fee for what you will see once through the gates. Lovely lake, gorgeous stately home. In the courtyard there is a lovely clean and upmarket Tea Room. Food was amazing. All staff very helpful and friendly. Will def go again :D

We decided to visit Glansevern Hall Gardens on our way for a weekend in the Welshpool area. We were really looking forward to a coffee and a nice walk. When we arrived the carpark was fairly full so we headed for the entrance which clearly stated that it was open on a Friday. Everything was closed and the whole place... More

Peaceful garden but don't think we saw it at its best. Very pleasant walk round the lake but the garden itself was definitely past its best. We had just been to Powis Castle and the gardens there are still lovely even in mid September,so we were rather dissapointed. Cafe closed so we couldn't even have a cup of tea.

These are lovely gardens with a gorgeous lake and Birdhide. Probably the best times to visit would be when the flowers are in full bloom or in the autumn when the colours would be amazing. The Birdhide overlooks the river Severn and is an incredibly tranquil and peaceful spot where several visitors have seen kingfishers. Unfortunately the tearoom was closed... More

Lovely garden but felt that the upkeep had got a bit behind and was rather shabby in places. Areas where the weeds and pruning had got on top of the gardeners but overall a very nice garden. The coffee shop was closed which was a shame as we were a party of 14 looking for a light lunch.

We had lovely cream scones and tea/coffee in the courtyard prior to touring the lovely grounds. The walled garden made us want to 'scrump' some of the lovely apples and pears. The bird hide by the river is an interesting little bit but the walk around the lake is very pleasing.

Thank Alan R
