Incorrect information on website said open Weds to Sun plus bank hol Mon. We drove down there Aug bank holiday to find a few cars in car park. Although someone there did not say to us that they were closed. Only when we got out of car and walked down did we see a closed sign and one saying garden entrance via car park. Only after we changed our plans to go elsewhere did they change their website to say completely closed until after the pandemic. Info on here says open Sat and Sun also wrong as their site now says closed. Had we not been able to change plans our day would have been complete waste of time. We understand some places are still closed but it would help to be told so before planning a visit. It would be helpful to place a closed sign at the entrance so people do not drive down there instead of still displaying an open Weds to Sun sign. Not at all impressed as this is the second place at the start of our holiday that has shown wrong info on their website. This is the first time since lockdown where we have been able to travel anywhere and do not want our time wasted by this kind of poor management. It seems we cannot trust your website and still need to phone up to check everything instead. Not very helpful.

Lovely afternoon spent walking around the grounds, we loved the informality of the grounds which are a haven for wildlife. Enjoyed the hide overlooking the river which was in full flow after all the rain, muddy in parts so wear walking boots to see everything. Lovely lakeside setting & woodland walk, over a beautiful bridge, babbling stream, plenty of places to rest. Coffees & cakes delicious, courteous staff & owner.Heavenly.

Really good lunch, home made chunky vegetable soup in tomato base, lots of different chunky veg not your normal boring selection, especially liked the Italian beans. good selection of home made cakes as well. A sunny, dry patch in an otherwise very wet weekend made for a pleasurable quiet walk around the grounds, taking in the river and the lake. Composed some poetry while in lovely closed in gazebo over looking river. If you are Nat Trust member get entrance 2 for 1, so only cost us £5. Staying open Wed to Sun over Winter. Will definitely be back again for lunch on a Sunday, not much else open on Sun out of season
