Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely quiet place, goodish surf. BUT DON’T COME if you have any internet based work to do. Zoom drops out constantly, WhatsApp calls don’t work, all those cafes, who proffer wifi don’t have stable connection.
You’ll go nuts if you rely on the outside. If you don’t, you’ll have a great time

We have been coming to San Pancho for years. The beach is on the Pacific Ocean so you need to have some experience swimming in waves. There are many surfers at one end of the beach. The North end of the beach is a bit more private.
Alas, as development has come to San Pancho, now the two beach restaurants require renting an umbrella or a minimum food/drink charge of 700 pesos. Great people watching.
North of Punta Mita this is hands down the best beach experience you will find.

The beach was really nice and the water was calm during this time. You will need to pay entrance fee to reserve a table, chairs, and umbrella. There is a walk-up bar/restaurant where you can order drinks/meals, but if you wanted it to be delivered, it will cost a little bit more.

Lovely beach which I walked daily during the week we spent here. Clean, light colored, fine sand for great barefoot walking foot massage. But there were many dogs running unrestrained. For the most part they appeared cared for and not a bother. However one annoyingly peed on my stuff!
Water was clear and clean. Water temperature was perfect for bouncing over and under the waves, as well as attempts to body surf. Often the waves were bigger with some undertow, but I went in at least briefly daily. There were a number of surfers and opportunity for surf lessons.
Chairs & umbrellas set up and available to rent, plus plenty of beach open without people nearby.

This is the place that Sayulita was 15 years ago. If you want a beautiful beach and a quaint town with amazing restaurants and shops, then you want to stay here. If you want a crowded town with drunk people that’s over run with tourists and tourism, then you want Sayulita. It’s so sad what it has become in that amount of time.

If you want a pampered day at the beach, this is your spot. Couches, loungers and umbrellas with full restaurant service. A great spot to chill all day and treat yourself to a postcard sunset at the end of the day.

Lovely beach in San Pancho, very nice to watch the sunset. We choose to take advantage of the cafes and enjoy fresh seafood, cold beer and sand on our toes. It can get pretty crowded at times and there may times where the dogs are plentiful.

My husband and I traveled to this beach for a day trip from Puerto Vallarta. It is about a 40 minute drive from there. This beach was amazing. The ocean is so clean and blue and the waves are amazing. They have plenty of umbrellas and chairs to rent as well. This is a smaller and quieter version of Sayulita beach but on Sundays, it gets packed! Good food and a great beach overall.

Loved San Pancho and will definitely be heading back! Found a lovely Airbnb just a few blocks up from the beach (Habitación Katia). Enjoyed every moment, from watching the sunset and walking on the lovely beach to wandering through the market and sweet little town. People were all friendly and helpful. Really loved it.

Amazing setting and spectacular structure!
Great place for a restaurant!
Service was very attentive, knowledgeable serving staff and great food!
Started with marguitas.
For appetizers, the grilled scallops in a raspberry sauce and the Cesar salad which was excellent. For mains the braised short rib and the mahi mahi. Attention to detail and the presentation superb!

Does anyone know if there is a public swing or swing-set available in a park, school, playground?
Written 11 January 2024
Sorry but I don't know the answer. It's a small town. There are a few private beach clubs that might have what you are looking for.

The bus stops at the intersection of the 200 highway and the entrance into San Pancho. The buses run at least every hour. Look at the sign on the bus to be sure it says PV. Be sure you are on the town side of the 200 to catch the bus toward PV.

Hi—We are planning a trip in mid October and hear that many restaurants may be closed until the high season starts in November. I’d love to confirm if this is the case. Any insight on the town during this time of year would be appreciated. Thanks!

November is when the town wakes up for the season, but lately earlier since more people are coming earlier.
