Wouldn't make a destination trip here - nothing special but more a local community market. A few second goods but doesn't have the interest of say farmers markets in regional centres.

Balmain Market is for those people who have absolutely nothing better to do. We were in Balmain for the day, and happened to come across the Market. Old stuff mostly, nothing really exciting, but people were willing to haggle and bargain. We just watched.

Third visit to these markets and we still find the odd nick nack. Mostly second hand the vendors are willing to haggle, especially towards the end of the day.

Having recently visited Paddington Market, I had expected Balmain Market to be of similar size and quality. Sadly this was not the case. We visited around 2 pm and found very few stalls around the church. The market advertises a closing time of 3 pm...More

This lovely market has so much to offer with handmade items, fresh flowers, organic vegetables, Toby's Estate coffee vendor and so much more. Located in the heart of Balmain Peninsula, in the idilic grounds of St Andrews Congregational Church.

Not a destination market....Very few kiosks and food stands....Just if you are there already. Go to Rozelle market further up the road....Much larger and varied. Opens at 9 a.m.

Interesting collection of vendors. Held every Saturday. Mainly art/collectibles with some interesting original art. The location is also nie in that you can walk down to Sydney harbour and browse around the Balmain shopping center.

A pleasant morning was has browsing the markets which were small but interesting. Local media had it hyped as something more but we were still pleasantly surprised by the local artistry presented.

Sydney.com makes this market sound really cool with 140 stalls, second hand books and clothes and live music plus international food stalls. I took the ferry today from Kirribilli to Balmain to see the markets and I found it was a waste of time. The...More

Take the ferry to the inner west suburb of Balmain and
be enchanted with this picturesque and eclectic
waterside area. A stroll down Darling Street will take
you on a tour of coffee shops, boutique delicatessens
and shops offering wholefood products and organic
cuisines. Yoga studios abound, and live music emanates
from the hotels at night. As the place where the
