Clunes is mostly a heritage-listed town dating back to the gold rush days. I love the character of this old town with many still original storefronts. You can imagine you are in an old western movie set but this is real. This is my second...More

What amazing and grand historic buildings! We were surprised to learn that Clunes was actually the first place that gold was discovered in Victoria and that in some parts of the Creswick Creek, you can still see traces of gold. There was obviously a lot...More

Clunes township is made up of many old and spectacular buildings from the very rich gold rush history of the region. The shops offer many old collectables and especially books which Clunes has become famous for. A new timber fabrication business has set up to...More

We loved walking this street, browsing in book shops and imagining what it must have been like in gold rush days. We also happened to come during the ceramic exhibition so saw some lovely pieces of work.

My great grandparents retired to this town back in the Forties and I don't think it has changed anytime since then. It is just a wonderful little hamlet with a lot of original buildings and I think that people are starting to get interested in...More

Lovely little town for a wander, it has so much potential with a bit of entrepreneurship it could be a live Sovereign Hill one day. Get out your car and walk it is well worth it.

What a beautiful spot to step back in time. Delightful old buildings and friendly locals. Lunch at Quigley & Clarke - homemade food and good service.
