It may be different at a different time of the year but it had no character and apart from a dam wall and an expanse of water had little of interest. Very little birdlife and limited picnic facilities.

While staying at Halls Gap Zumsteins which was an old german settlement is worth a trip. Looking for kangaroos can guarantee you will see plenty there.

We were very impressed with the view of Lake Wartook from Reeds Lookout. We decided to drive out to take a look. It would be a nice picnic spot but on the day we were there it was freezing. Such a cold wind, so we...More

This is a great spot to go after MacKenzie Falls if it is busy. It is just down the road and a lovely spot to sit and have a picnic. The view is lovely and a pleasant and quiet spot.

This is an interesting relaxing spot but lacks the grandeur of some of the other features of The Grampians. It's easily accessed by road and is conveniently located near MacKenzie Falls.

Interesting to get out of the car and have a good look around at the reservoir wall and infrastructure - not a real "touristy" thing to do but interesting enough for those mechanically/engineering inclined

Easy drive to get to here and is worth a look. I think you can have a bit of a walk around. Too cold on the day we were here so didn't bother, quite peaceful.

Were able to walk over the reservoir wall and watch the water pouring out of the reservoir. Such power! Contrasted by the gentle trickle of the overflow from the spillway on the walk back to the carpark. Very nice to see. Enjoyed the openness of...More
