Built in1872 for 140 ponds it is hard to believe it was still being used as a lockup in Warracknabeal until 1960. Very solid log construction. Even the floor and roof are logs. I doubt very much if there had ever been any escapes. Interesting...More

Interesting remnant of our past and actually in use as recently as 1960. This little lock up sits in an otherwise empty block within the town and is open daily. Entry is free. It is dark inside with no lighting other than the natural light...More

This and the nearby Fauna park are well worth a visit. The family had significant history around the Warracknabeal area so this was a particular treat.

Quite amazing that it was used so 'recently'. Some seriously solid construction that's a fascinating bit of history Worth stopping for five minutes to have a look if you're not in a hurry

Built in 1872 this log jail is fascinating.it was actually used up till 1960. It's open daily for visitors and is well worth a look.
