About
This small, upscale district is one of Nashville’s trendiest spots, with boutique hotels, cool shops, craft breweries, and diverse restaurants and bars. Here, you can try Nashville hot chicken and amazing soul food, enjoy some live folk music and jazz, and snap a photo with the colorful street around the district—including the famous angel wings mural. The Gulch also has a variety of cool accommodation options so you can use it as a base to explore the rest of Nashville. Find all of the murals in the area on a street art tour, or drop by The Gulch on a hop-on hop-off trolley tour of Nashville. – Tripadvisor

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First into Nashville after we found our place to stay, was to hit up The Gulch area. Lots of restaurants, cute shops, murals, and people.
Had fun walking the area and deciding what to do the next day as well. Honestly, in one day you can see pretty much all they have in the area. If you want photos with the murals, you may have to way in line, but it goes pretty quickly.
Just a quaint area to visit

I walked around downtown Nashville quite a bit during a recent four-night stay and this was one of the nicest sections I found. Attractive residential area, some nice shops and restaurants. It is a bit far from the madness of Broadway, but that's a good thing!

While my wife and I were in Nashville we visited here twice; once to walk around and than for brunch. Many shops and places to eat and enjoy a good time.
Places to stay and upscale living is also here and all around, would say this is an area of class and taste!
Recommend getting a scooter or walking around and enjoying the afternoon. Recommend and would say we’ve ate a a few places and the food and drink options work for anyone~

Just south of downtown is this once-abandoned industrial area that's undergone an urban revitalization. This walkable community has boutique hotels, high-rise condos, instagrammable murals, shops, live music venues, breweries, and diverse culinary offerings spanning everything from biscuits and Nashville Hot Chicken to Detroit-style pizza, traditional ramen, and Indian food.
There were many parking lots by we found street parking & fed the meter. We had a good time walking & peering into shops & restaurants. Man restaurants had crowds and/or long lines in front.

Great time. Its away from the insanity of the main bar scene, yet has everything you want literally a few steps away. Stayed at a condo directly above 404 Kitchen…..wonderful drink spot. Next door to cool restaurant, and across the street from the Station Inn……20 minute walk to the museums, or a 5 min drive by Lyft.

I’m a bit surprised to see so many ratings below saying that The Gulch is overrated! It’s a nice change of pace from the hectic and bustling Broadway. Much more chill and suburban feel in this area. The highlights were visiting the Parachute store (stunning home decor) and the Q Clothier.

This was on our must-do list so we could see the angel wings and get our pictures there. The Gulch is all new, so don't come here looking for any history on Nashville. Pretty much high-end shops, high-end hotels, and some really cool murals.

We stayed in an Airbnb in the Gulch. There are some nice restaurants bars shopping and of course all the mural attractions. This is where the wings for all is as well as so many other Nashville photo opportunities.

The Gulch is where young people, college students and inquisitive tourists go to have fun and listen to bluegrass music in Nashville, Tennessee. It is a hip and trendy and upscale neighborhood known for chic hotels, trend-setting restaurants, high-end fashion boutiques and popular entertainment venues. It also is home to the historic Union Station Hotel and one of Music City's most famous and historic music venues, The Station Inn, which launched the careers of some of the most celebrated singers and musicians in bluegrass and country music. Located on South Broadway, on the southern fringe of downtown Nashville, near I-40, I-65 and I-24, two blocks from Music City Center, The Gulch was certified as a LEED Green Neighborhood in 2009, the first neighborhood in the American South to become so certified. The Gulch was once the site of Nashville's bustling railroad yard with origins dating to the Civil War. But urban revitalization began to take hold in the early 2000s in the 110-acre development named for its natural geographic depression. Book a room at the 404 Hotel or Thompson Nashville or Fairfield Inn & Suites, visit the Frist Art Museum, soak up the history at Carter Vintage Guitars, shop at Blush Boutique or Nashville Boot Company or Parish or Lucchese or Finnleys The Gulch or Urban Outfitters, then take a lunch break at Arnold's Country Kitchen, Kayne Prime, Pemrose, Pub Nashville or 404 Kitchen or Del Frisco's Grille or Burger Republic. When the sun goes down, for nightlife, visit Gertie's Bar or Bar Louis or Rudy's Jazz Room or Mercy Lounge or Station Inn. The highlight of the week is Sunday night at Station Inn, where fiddlers and pickers participate in a weekly Bluegrass Jam session that has been known to attract such iconic musicians as Bill Monroe, Ricky Skaggs and Chet Atkins and Earl Scruggs. Arrive early and plan to stay late. It's an entertaining evening that you don't want to miss, then don't want to leave.

Did any of you stay in the Boujie babe cave - a glamours 4 story townhouse in Gulch? It had a painted mural of Dolly and Taylor Swift on the wall. Super Host name is John? Which booking sight did you find it on. I located on Airbnb but so expensive. Hoping it is a little less on another site.
