Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Whiskey Bent is located on Broadway amidst all the hustle and bustle of downtown Nashville. Featuring a narrow profile, like many other row establishments, there is a small stage up front and a good sized bar running down one side. A good representation of tables and chairs fills in the rest of this honky tonk space.
Even midweek, you can expect to find a band playing and Wednesday was no exception. Working between a set list of country and early rock, the band was reasonably accomplished and kept the audience engaged. The drinks are reasonably priced ($7 for a draft) and the bartenders sociable. There’s no food offerings at Whiskey Bent, so eat early and settle in here for the music and drinking.
We liked this saloon, mostly because it was one of the few that had open bar stools. Other than that, a beer is a beer and honky tonk is honky tonk. Drop in for a bit and move on down to the next bar enjoying it for what it is.

We walked into the bar on a Thursday night to find two empty and unattended seat at the bar to which we sat down in. We were soon after greeted by two people claiming these were their seats and after ordering drinks and opening a tab from those seat we kindly told them we were not going to leave. We were then greeted by a bouncer who escorted us out the bar for not getting up. Before being escorted out the bartender took one our drinks away pouring it out and saying “you are done” due to being angry we would not get up. After leaving my daughter still had her drink in hand not knowing you could not leave a bar with a drink (mind you we are from out of state so this is new to us). The bouncer then proceeded to put his hands on her grabbing her in order to yank the drinks from her hands. She is a young women who had no idea of this rule here in Nashville and instead of being nicely notified to give her drink back or throw it away the male bouncer used physical force on a young female. This is unacceptable and escalated a situation that could have been handled much differently. I advise that when in Nashville steer clear of this bar for I have had other friends and family members speak on the rude service here.

This was one of the typical Bars located on Broadway. Probably the about the average size Bar, with the usual layout of a stage and area for dancing. It did not take very much for the place to be fairly full at which time it is quite difficult to get to the bar, attract attention and eventually get served. At the times we visited day or nighttimes’ there were fairly good bands playing in here.

Nashville was packed on our visit, so navigating saloons was a full time job. We found Whiskey Bent to be our go to place, when long lines were at several places. Make your way through the ground floor & go up to the 2nd floor. You’ll be surprised how wide open the space is compared to the crush of crowds in other places. They have live music going non stop. The bartenders were excellent dealing with the continuous orders, & large groups.

This place was OK. We had good service. It was really crowded downstairs so we went upstairs, but it was absolutely dead upstairs. The band was good. They played some of the ones we requested. There just wasn’t much of a vibe on the second floor. Way too crowded on the first floor.

We wandered into this bar on a whim. Oh, how very fortunate for us! What a great venue for live music! We were thoroughly entertained by The Moonshine Outlaws! What a rollicking good time with great local craft beer and talented musicians! The bar was not overly crowded for a Wednesday night (good for us old folk) but the bartender was swift, friendly, and funny. A great birthday night for my partner!

Last night I walked in with five of my friends, they sat at the table to order drinks and I walked back to use the bathroom. Once in the bathroom I could see where someone was puking in the toilet and his buddy was helping him. I minded my business and walked out. I ask my friends if they had ordered drinks yet because I was buying for everyone. They said no so I walked up to the bar and asked the lady if we had to come to the bar for drinks. She said she wasn’t gonna serve me because I had been puking in the bathroom. I politely informed her that it wasn’t me and that we had just got there. She refused and then I feel security rap me on the shoulder and ask me to leave. So we left without ever buying a drink and we’re treated extremely poorly. I would not recommend this place at all.

Loved this place so much we went 2 days in a row. Such great musicians and great service from all the servers. We also felt really comfortable with all the Covid precautions they had in place compared to a lot of the other bars on Broadway. Be sure to check out Jesse Cain. He is great!!

Spent an entire afternoon enjoying some moonshine margaritas and listening to live music. The service was good, the drinks were great, and the music was awesome. Particularly enjoy this place as it is causal and clean, and you can really sit back and enjoy the music.
During the day, I would say it was kid friendly as the music was appropriate - during the evening and night - I would say get a babysitter :).

The other name bars on the strip seemed to be packed with tourists and maybe a little younger crowd. If you want a little more mature crowd, laid back and more authentic...come to Whiskey Bent. Good bands, good crowd, real people, good times. Bought the hat!!

Must you be 21 to go in during the afternoon or early evening to hear music or can my 18 year old go in with me? We will be visiting soon

While it is pretty mellow during the day, I'm pretty sure it's 21 and over.

To add what the others wrote, it’s hard to find a good schedule of who is going to be on stage. They don’t do a very good job of updating the music lineup. BUT follow Brit on social media and ask him direct when he’s playing. It’s a good time no matter what tho. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Is parking nearby?
Written 19 October 2017
There is within a block or two but it can get expensive. If you are staying at a hotel I would walk or take an uber, if you are just going for a few hours and leaving then I would just pay to park.
