The Oak Ridge Children's Museum is an excellent place to spend a couple or three hours on a rainy, cold or hot Saturday. It provides hands on displays for children that relates the history of the area as well as that of other locales. The bird sanctuary room was a favorite for our 5-year old as was the river travel... I have been to the Children's Museum many times.... first with my Kids... now my Grandkids. It is always beautifully done and interesting on more than one level. The kids enjoy it for the fun, the adults enjoy it for the History and Stories of life in and around Oak Ridge.

I have been to the Museum with my kids and with school groups. Love when they have special days and it is also a great place to book a birthday party for young kids. With school group (2-3rd) it is also great to ask for tours or special projects.

We love the children's museum. We actually had our son's last birthday there. They were so accommodating and helpful. The kids always love it. For a hands on museum, the Children's Museum is top.

I visited with my 1 year old son. We were able to find parts of the museum that he really enjoyed. He liked the boat, the trains, and the space room. The weather was not the greatest, so we didn't get to play on the playground. I will probably go back when he is older, so I can read more... More

This place was huge. I honestly thought we were never going to find the end. Each room had a different theme with new things to learn. Lots to read and learn. Teen siblings were bored after about an hour. 5 year old wanted to stay all day. I found some of the exhibits very interesting. Will go back without the... More

This museum is located in what was an elementary school that was built during the Manhattan Project days. It's a great place to take a group of elementary-aged children or your own children. There's everything from an Appalachian-living exhibit, to a life-size doll house, to model trains.

Super cute little museum for kids. Has some history exhibits, a train exhibit along with some other little knick knacks.

This place is great. We have gone each time we have visited grandparents and the kdis love it. There is this life size doll house that my 4 year old spent 2 hours in, a train section that my 2 year old was hard to pry away from, and so much rich history for kids and adults regarding the Manhattan... My almost three year old son had a blast learning about musical instruments, bird habitats, and the rainforest. I think his favorite parts were the model trains, the water area, and the dollhouse area though. These were perfect for little ones that want to watch and touch! One surprise was how much of the children's museum was taken up by... More
