Wow! Wonderful experience. I will say without exception the best amusement park I’ve ever visited. The place is impeccably clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and truly seem to appreciate your business. They go out of their way to accommodate and entertain. The wait times for rides was surprisingly low considering the crowd. You should think about getting in better shape before going, though. Steep hills. And the safety bars on most rides are tight on someone overweight like me. Chose a time of year when it’s not hot. You expect to pay more for food and drinks in any entertainment venue, but as far as amusement parks go, prize are reasonable. And you can’t beat the scenery and the whistle of the steam engine train.

A billion dollar business should not have a coin shortage
Jul 2021 • Family
Our family of 4 spent $400 dollars and spent barely 2 hours in the park.
1. Food quality was terrible
2. All the food and drink stands were short on coins and rounded your orders
3. We came at 6pm and even though we were told that rides will close at 9:30pm , all the rides were closed at 8pm
4. The map of the rides is unreadable, instead of names of the rides, the map provides the descriptions of the rides, it’s impossible to use the maps
5. The July heat was unbearable and we stopped by at the indoor attraction and the cafe just to cool down, but guess what, this multi-million business charges you crazy amounts of money for the entrance, doesn’t even have normal AC inside, the AC was barely running. We decided to leave the park and cool down inside the car and while we were looking for the exit and asking the stuff for directions, they acted like robots. If you hate people, don’t work in amusement parks!!! Nobody cared, nobody would help us, we almost got a heat attack, and had a senior in our group. Save your money and go spend it somewhere else! It is not a magic place, it is a nightmare!!!

A trip to Dollywood
Jul 2021 • Family
First timers at Dollywood a very hot day in July. Patience and a "go with the flow* spirit are musts. If you intend to rent a stroller, my suggestion is reserve online prior to going. They cut reservations off at 48 hours prior to your day, so reserve 2 days prior. If you don't reserve, plan to wait in a 30 min line in the very hot sun. I think you can also reserve your parking pass online. This is a great option too. Many quick service restaurants are closed, so plan for long waits for food. It does not state on the app what food stands are closed. This was frustrating. If you want a carbonated drink, plan for a long wait for that because of the people filling up their refillable cups. These guests only have limited options on where to refill as well. We felt signage could be better throughout the park. We were confused at where we were in the midst of a hot day. We noticed the crowds starting to thin around 4pm. We took a small cooler of 3 frozen water bottles and 1 thermos in and boy that saved us. We filled our yeti with the cold water and refilled our bottles at the water filling stations thought the park. Another thing we are glad we had was our cooling towels. The park is lovely. Dolly's museum was a well done surprise we weren't expecting. The ride times on the app were spot on, if not less than what was stated. The drone show and fireworks at the end of the day was wonderful. Great way to end the day. We are living in challenging times with the labor industry. If you plan for this, you will be ok!

Loved Dollywood 🦋
Jul 2021 • Family
First time visitors and we were very impressed. Lots of large coasters for such a small area. The 9, 12, 15, and 16 year olds, as well as the 40 somethings also enjoyed it a lot. Not every food place was open, but those that were did their best to move you quickly and the food was good. Highly recommend The Front Porch. Wild Eagle was AMAZING! Pack some aleve for the jerkiness of all the other coasters though! Dance party, fireworks, and drone display at the end of the night was fantastic. Not hard to get out of the park and get on the road which was a big plus for my husband.

Dollywood in July
Jul 2021
We had a good experience here in July. Got here early and parked in preferred parking and that was a good choice, otherwise you have to wait for the trams with the crowds and we wanted to get in and out as easily as possible. It was well worth the money - extra $15 I think. You walk down a very small hill and are literally at the gate of the park. Exiting was great too - walk out the gates and right to your car. I think the lot fills though, because there were no spots left when we left, so don't get there too late. We liked the park - a lot of very pretty details and landscape. Didn't ride much (son just had surgery and couldn't ride roller coasters) but loved the steam train. the popular rides had very long lines. We were scared of no food and drinks available because of other reviews, but it was fine. Not everything was open, but what was moved quickly. No need to panic. Overall we were impressed with Dollywood but the ride lines were long and the credit card machines broke in many stores that day so needed cash for some things. We live in CA and always go to Disneyland, so I was impressed with the detail at Dollywood. Do try the famous cinnamon break - it was the best we've ever had!

Ridiculous Wait Times
Jul 2021
There were not enough food venues open in the park to accommodate the amount of people they let in. All we did all day was wait. We were looking so forward to it, too.

Sneaky good theme park
Jul 2021
We weren't sure what to expect but we had a surprising great 2 day visit. We are a family that loves Disney World and were looking for a theme park that would give us as close to that experience as possible. Well it's not Disney but Dollywood did check a lot of the boxes for us. There are some seriously great thrill rides here as well. We all loved lightning rod. It really helped us to have the timesaver passes as some of the lines did get pretty long. We also loved the Dreamland drive in show. The singers were really good and it was a nice break from the heat. Eating is definitely a bit of a challenge right now so just make sure you pack your patience. The lines can get pretty long around lunch and dinner time. We were able to make one dinner reservation while we were there for the Front Porch Cafe but the service was really slow. They are definitely suffering from the worker shortage but doing the best they can. It won't ruin your visit

Excellent Coasters - Wish it Wasn't the Summer of Staffing Shortages
Jul 2021
We had Timesaver included with our hotel stay and I am so thankful for that! Honestly, I found the crowds at Splash Country a lot worse than Dollywood. We loved the coasters and enjoyed the atmosphere. Dollywood had some nice unique touches from other amusement parks. It isn't run like Disney (i.e. line management) but I wasn't expecting it to be. We were disappointed about no ride photos as that is one of my favorite parts of the memories. The food and drink options are limited, especially in certain areas of the park. They had some top of the line coasters (Lightning Rod and Wild Eagle).
