What an amazing adventure! It started off with meeting Harold the owner of Webb Brothers who is an absolute sweetheart. The women who work for him make you feel right at home and his puppy dog is a little love bug! I was lucky enough to get to ride in the truck with Harold and his pup to the drop off. His knowledge of the river and the town is truly incredible. When on the river, Harold's advice of "stay on the left of the islands" was extremely helpful and made for one of the most memorable river runs. I can't say enough good things about Webb Brothers. This is a great adventure for couples but is safe enough for young families as well. Pack a lunch and pull off onto one of the islands to let your kids play. I promise you, it will be a family vacation that they will talk about for years to come!

We have used the services of Webb Brothers for many years now and have taken multiple groups of our family of 10 down the river. We have always been pleased with their friendliness and professionalism. Like any river supply company, you must be prepared to enjoy the wait until you actually get out on the river. It is not an exact science. The same staff that transports you, is also engaged in taking you out of the water and cleaning up the boats for the next group of travelers. You can not gauge how many people will show up. Sometimes we have been on the river within 30 minutes. Other times it may have taken up to 90 minutes to wait. Even though they have tons of boats, your departure may depend on how long it takes others to come down the river. The river and other travellers are unpredictable. This is not a European train you're riding where you can set your watch by the arrival accuracy. Your purpose in 'riding' the river is to enjoy nature and to get out and have fun. Focus on that and you'll be fine.

Our group of 6 must have arrived at a busy time of the day, due to a large number of others guests already waiting when we arrived. At check-in, we were told we would more than likely be able to get on the next shuttle despite the large number of people waiting, but it became full, so we had to wait for the next one. It was supposed to return “shortly” from dropping off another load of guests, but shortly turned into an hour wait. However, we were able to sit down by the river in a shaded area during this time. Once the shuttle returned, transport was fairly smooth. I do feel like staff and operations were somewhat unorganized, but it got the job done. There was a very minimal safety briefing on the bus ride to the “put in” area, but no real instructions were needed. The river was very calm. My husband & I had a good time in our double, inflatable “Funyak” as we went down the Hiwassee River.
