This parkway is situated in the beautiful foothills of east Tennessee. The drive is very nice; however, since the roadway is in segments the drives are relatively short. It would be nice if they would finish this project that was started in 1944.

Had come from the west side of the Smokies along all the curves and ups and downs of the mountains to find the Foothills Parkway to get over to Pigeon Forge. It wasn't as curvy and an enjoyable ride. Lots of pull over places to...More

Get away from the crowds and enjoy beautiful views of the park. Lots of good overlooks and you can take a walk up to Look Rock Tower for the view too. Beautiful sunset spots.

Rode this a few times on our visit heading to another location. Very scenic. However, there’s gas or food on this stretch. Very nice ride on the Harley. We went once in regular vehicle and second time on the bike.

The views were beautiful while not as spectacular as the Cherohala Skyway, definitely work the ride. Also a great way to get to the Tail of the Dragon.

During our recent visit to the Alcoa Knoxville, Maryville area we actually traveled on this road four times. It's about 18 miles long but no sharp turns just up hill then down. There are several pullovers where you can either just stopped for a break...More

We rode our Harley through the Parkway it is indescribable. Even though we did not get to see most of it at the very top due to rain and clouds it was still an awesome ride.

This a great scenic drive in itself, and is also the way to get from Townsend TN to Highway 129 The Tail of the Dragon.

There are a few motels in Townsend, TN, which is just minutes from the Parkway and minutes from the entrance to the National Park. We can also highly recommend renting a cabin with Dogwood Cabins in Townsend!
