Nice easy hike

In the Tullahoma area, this is a nice easy hike, with some beautiful waterfalls. Easy to do in just a couple hours.

We had a fabulous time hiking the machine falls trail with our kids. We had some trouble finding the entrance but that was a Google Maps issue. The hike was perfectly challenging for little legs- sometimes steep and slippery especially when we went on side trails. A hiking stick was helpful. Our boys hike often, so they did well. However,... Maybe you've already gone by Rutledge falls and seen the usually packed area especially during the summer... Only a few miles out of Tullahoma and you will find this little sweet serene area. There are multiple trails to take, it's close to a mile hike down to machine falls. Hint:. If you want to be at the water fast, coming... More

What can I say? This was one of the nicest, most exhausting hikes I've been on. The markers are so confusing and we really had no clue what we were doing or where we were going. That's our fault, as we didn't look online at a map first or anything. Basically, drove up, got out and started walking. My mom... More

This is a great half day or take a backpack lunch, sit by the falls and stay all day. Well maintained trails, a beautiful waterfall, and good for a family.

After reading reviews we just had to see what Machine Falls was all about. Be sure to park by the water tower and CROSS THE ROAD. Thankfully we had read that advice on TA before we left so we were aware. Anyway... you will follow the blue painted trail. Look for paint splashes on the trees as you go. The... More

The weather was perfect for trail walking in the afternoon. This area had the perfect trails for casual and challenging walks. We had a hard time finding the area since there were no signs. Until you turned around and drove back! Park at the water town and then cross the road. The trails are difficult to look at on the... More

We spent a few hours here exploring! Several waterfalls and several trails. Park at the water tower and CROSS THE ROAD to enter the area where you begin the hike. Be sure to take all the trails as each offers unique views and characteristics. The water is beautiful as are the waterfalls, especially Machine Falls. We made our way around... More

We had never been there before so we parked where the "Short Springs" Info board (trail map, etc) was and followed a couple into the woods, behind the board, hiked for a little while and the trail just disappeared. We walked all over, trying to find the trail again... after 45 minutes, we went back to the info board, and... More
