I got drawn to hunt the HSNA for white tail deer and exotics and it was a wonderful time. I didn't get to harvest a deer or aoudad, but had fun looking for them. The staff was friendly, and we had a good time camping. I hunted the back two compartments and had spectacular vistas the entire time.

We didn't get to hike any of the trails, the rains had flooded them, so we drove up the road a couple miles to the house for rent. The drive was pretty, there were several places that we stopped and played in the river! It was beautiful! The rangers were very helpful and kind, and very informative. The trails seemed... More

This place is a huge, once working ranch in a very rugged part of Bandera County. I have really only experienced it on horseback and if you're a rider there are miles of trails from flat to extremely rugged and steep. They will give you a map and tell you which ones to ride at the ranger station but if... More

We discovered Hill Country last year and we had to come back. This time we were there for nine days. Everyday we rode. Every evening we sat on the porch of our cabin and watched the night come in. The welcome, the horses, the tuition, the rides were all excellent. We will be back.

There are lots of easy and intermediate hiking and biking trails here. Horses can also share the trails with you. The rangers are very friendly and helpful. The area is beautiful! Also do the the wildflower walk if it is offered while you are there. The naturalist is knowledgeable and you learn a lot about the variety of wildflowers in... More

Get there early during peak times. Limited parking so it fills up quickly. Lovely hike up the big rock. We take family there all the time and everyone always comments on the views and the wow factor of the climb. There is something wild about being above the Vultures...
