Absolutely beautiful river! The water is amazing! The water level was a little low but was so much fun to kayak!

Clear running waters lined with big cypress trees make this a natural attraction. Bandera has a public park (fee required) along the river within the town, but most of the river runs through private property.

We were told by locals not to bother with visiting the lake, as most of it was private frontage, they directed us to this river instead, only a couple of blocks outside town. It was lovely and would be a good place for all ages...More

There is a very long stretch of the Medina River which is lined with picnic tables and can be accessed for swimming. Parking is directly behind it and the riven is very clear and a beautiful green color. Very nice.

We walk to the Medina River from our campsite most mornings with the dogs. Then we go to the City Park and walk along it some more before running our Whippet on the grass expanse available. The river is somewhat unimpressive this time of year....More

This is an absolutely beautiful river. The drought has left it a little low right now, but a little rain will revive it to one of the most beautiful rivers in Texas

Rented some tubes from the Medina River Company and they drove us by bus up the river a couple kilometers. We spent the afternoon relaxing in the slow moving Medina and cooling down from the hot Texas sun.

Head to Bandera. Stop at the town centre cross road. Turn left with the antiques. Enter on your left. Walk ahead. You can’t miss the river :0)

You can float but the river is very slow as there is a dam at the end and people usually don't go up the river far enough to float. its a great place to go swimming and bbq.
