This is a nature preserve that came about after a neighborhood kept flooding...it was bought out and returned to nature....you can still run through trails and drive down former streets. There is a park, fishing areas, kids' playground, etc

A park that is free if you have a Baytown address. I highly recommend going to this place and if you learn the background story you’ll appreciate even more.

It's pretty and super relaxing to hang out or fish. Not a lot of people during the weekday but on the weekend it does get full.

Easy hikes. Clean trails. I like that it is not far from home. There are days when visiting is free but I do not remember when that is.

I remember this area when the remnants of the homes destroyed by Hurricane Alicia still dotted the streets. Now the dilapidated homes have been replaced with picturesque views of the flora and fauna of the Galveston Bay system. One can spot a variety of birds...More
