We camped here over Memorial Day weekend in a travel trailer with reservations made 6 months prior. We arrived Friday just before 1pm and there were 5 campsites available in Council Bluff with full hook-up. Ranger at Park Headquarters assigned us a site upon check-in,...More

Having never been here, we just wanted a new Texas State Park experience. The lake is 7300 acres of mostly tranquil environment. The shore opposite the park is lined with some beautiful and expensive homes, and there is a public marina nearby. There 3 camping...More

Stayed 3 nights in March. Big, open spots in 30/50 amp with water. There are only 20 spots or so with full hookups and they are very close together. Nice, new docks to fish from and park people were very nice. Will be back!!

We stayed here for a week in our fifth wheel RV trailer. We fished, hiked the nature trails, ride around, visited Brownwood...had a great time. It also maintains decent wi-fi signals. It’s now on our ‘favorite’ list!

Clean, scenic, and empty during the week. Drive a little farther for piece and quiet. Great campsites. Good fishing. Cool water. Historic CCC stone buildings.

Personally, I don’t care for the snakes while we were fishing on one of the four docks. My husband say the lake can be tube fished. There are many reeds to navigate. The beach is clear for fishing or tube swimming. Hope... More
