This beautiful body of water could calm the stormiest soul. Not crowded like so many other lakes, but a peaceful place to take a boat ride or a swim! Gorgeous waterfalls, lots of wildlife to see on the surrounding land and you may even see...More

Playing with the kids in the shallow waters of Sandy Creek or tubing down the lake there's a lot to do here. Lake is plenty long (composed of two rivers) that you can take a nice long ride and not be going in circles.

Comparisons of lakes is never fair! It is even less fair for Texas lakes. Texas is a state with no remaining natural lakes--this one, and all others, are man made! When visitors from the northern/western states come here, they compare our lakes to the Great...More

We wanted to see the lighthouse on Lake LBJ. At the end of a residential road and a short walk, we found it. Not much to speak of as it looks more like a monument than a lighthouse. There was damage to an emblem on...More

Lake LBJ is huge and constant level which was a blessing the last few years of drought. This year brought torrential rains and the flood waters made the lake a little murkier than normal but it is beginning to clear. We love the water sports...More

Always a fun time! water can get pretty busy but it is a big lake. Pack your own lunch and beverages - gas, food and stuff is pretty hard to come by out on the lake.

The advantage of this lake is that it is a constant level lake, and you can cruise up and down towards the Colorado river or up by Horseshoe Bay to see the "mansions".
