We had a nice and interesting visit to the caverns. The guide was excellent and many cool features inside the caverns, including a stone that looks like a dog. The cave was used buy multiple groups before becoming a state park which made the tour...More

This was a nice tour, but for me the highlight was seeing the crystals. I haven’t ever seen so many in a cave like that. I can see why the first explorer explorers thought they had found diamonds. The only negative was seeing the many...More

This ia a great activity for friends or family but you need to enjoy walking ..... it's about a mile and a half but fairly level and takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Wouldn't suggest it for those that need a cane or other...More

We took our two oldest grandsons through Longhorn Caverns and had a great time. I was impressed with the history of this place, not only the caverns but all of the buildings that were built by the CCC long ago.

Only an hour from Austin, so a great day trip with a gorgeous drive in the country. It's chilly & slippery at parts, so take a hoodie & wear shoes with good tread. Our guide had this dry, hilarious sense of humor. They do suggest...More

My husband and I were actually looking for a winery when we came upon the park. It is beautiful! The old headquarters and observation area were built years ago by the conservation corps and are stunning. I highly recommend stop by the park when you’re...More

Our family of four (11 & 3 year old boys) stopped at Longhorn Caverns during a weekend athletic tournament recently. The tour is exactly 1 1/2 hours long, with 1.5 miles of walking in the cavern. The temperature was about 65 degrees, and we all...More

There is beauty about the cavern from the minute you start descending the stairs into it and all the way through it. Pictures do not do it justice. There are some adorable bats through a section of the cave and crystals in another section. There...More

Unusual cavern in that it was formed by water erosion and not dissolution. Larger than expected. Look for the small mud volcano formed from over-pressured water logged sediments.

Not at all, we are not slender ourselves, and had no problem on our tour, but wear good shoes, some spots are slippery.
