My wife and I enjoyed a cool afternoon exploring this old homestead in Carrollton. We are both crazy about old barns, and the barn there was very interesting. The house was locked, but we could plainly see through the windows to a lovely farm home with turn of the century furnishings. There was a pump near the back porch and... More

Lovely small historic site for a picnic, tour (when open), city holiday events or staging photos (engagement, wedding, graduation, etc.). Great in the Spring for Bluebonnet pictures NOT on a busy highway! Delightful oasis in the busy Metroplex.

A wonderful place to document early settlers of Carrollton. It is a step back in time with a beautiful park to walk around. Check out the movies on the lawn and Christmas events on their website. If you live in Carrollton, it is a must do activity. Don't forget to leave a little change for donations to keep it going.

This small local museum is a good way to learn more about settlement life in the late 19th and early 20th century in northcentral TX. The owners were pioneer homesteaders who came to Carrollton in the year 1844 from Carrollton, Illinois. In 1909, their son Dewitt Perry and his wife Francis (Grimes) tore down the first house and used some... More

While most people go this spot for the historical significance, it is one of my favorite places to go to take pictures. My son had his senior pictures taken here and one of my favorite shots is of him and his best friend (from birth) wearing their letterman jackets looking in the barn together. I just had my grandson's two... More

A. W. Perry Homestead museum shows the history of how Carrollton came together as a group of families to create a better life. Step inside a historic farmhouse with period furniture and a woman there to explain the details of the way of life. Visit the barn to see all the chores families had to do to survive.

If you live in Carrollton or are just visiting, a trip to the Perry Homestead is worth it if you enjoy history and seeing how folks lived when Carrollton was first organized. The home is beautifully restored to original furnishings and the barn is fun to explore as well.
