Deep in the heart of the Kent countryside yet only 35 minutes from London King’s Cross, The Kent Cookery School offers a wide range of cooking courses to suit everyone. Whether it is a gift for a loved one or a treat just for you our team of expert tutors will make sure your day is a day you’ll never forget. We offer every type of course from bread making to pattiserie, full day, weekend and evening courses. Once a month we open for dinner, with our chefs tables, come and watch the live theatre of our chefs as they create a four course fine dining menu, We also offer private parties, demonstrations, and one on one tuition.

A wonderful evening. Although on my own, it honestly wasn't a problem. I met lovely people and the cooking experience was fun and very informative. Who knew you could do that with an avocado! James and Autumn are wonderful.

Just returned from the macaron masterclass. My friend and I had an amazing time in the fabulously equipped kitchen. James and the team were exceptional in knowledge and helpfulness. A very friendly and relaxed environment that I would recommend to anyone.
I will certainly be visiting again.

Attended the Tapas evening, welcomed with a glass of Prosecco. I then enjoyed a friendly informal and fun learning experience with a nice mixture of people. Picked up several new tricks & was surprised how quickly the evening went. Really enjoyed it & would recommend to others.

Attended a Couples’ Cooking Experience with my husband in Sept and had the best time. Even sat at a candle-lit table at the end to eat the meal we made! Came to a Beef Wellington Masterclass this month and it was fantastic! Can’t wait for next month when I attend an ‘All the Trimmings’ masterclass in time for Christmas. No washing up either! Thank you James and Autumn!

This was a Christmas present from last year that I treated my family and their partners too. We decided to do the Indian cooking course with Hari. What an experience it was. Hari’s passion for Indian food was contagious. We all learnt so much. This is such a good way to spend time with family and friends. A big thank you to Autumn and James for creating something really special. We will be back!

This is my 2nd visit to Kent Cookery School. A lovely warm welcome, excellent clear instruction and the opportunity to sit down and eat the AMAZING food YOU have just cooked! Meeting like-minded people for a fabulous evening - go on, you’re worth it! Just wish it was nearer to where I live!😀

Having received a voucher for Christmas, I finally booked the 'Thai Street Food to go' course. What a fantastic way to spend a Saturday morning. I was on my own but was welcomed and paired up with someone else and this helped to make the experience even better. James shows you the methods in steps and is at hand when you are making the items yourself. I loved the food we made and have since made the 'green curry' at home. My favourite thing was learning how to make spring rolls, really tasty and good fun to make. The kitchen is beautiful with high quality kitchen equipment and knives. It was great taking the food away ( we really enjoyed it at home that evening) and I am definitely looking to book another one for next year.

James and the team were so friendly and both courses we attended as a couple (Thai street food to go and vegetarian cooking) were thoroughly enjoyable. We learnt a lot as novice chefs and will attend more courses. Definitely recommended.

This course is basically aimed at people who want to improve and develop their basic cookery skills. So therefore no specific qualification is gained from attending the day, although as the previous comment mentions you do get a certificate after attending the day.
