The museum has the letters organized by years they were written. Most of the letters are copies, and I guess they keep the originals in locked up to preserve them. However, the docent there told me they would let people read the original letters with supervision and gloves. One of those museum audio players where you punch in a number... More

The Pearch Museum complex is not your typical Historical Society Museum you find in a town this size. Yes, it is nice but in our opinion it is not worth the money we spent to visit. I think the price is what’s keeping people away. It’s no wonder we were the only people in the Museum at that time. We... More

When planning your trip, you need to plan a complete morning or afternoon for the Museum. Our group set aside 2 hours, which was not nearly long enough. The gentleman conducting the tour was an expert in Civil War history and very interesting. All in our group of 20+ thought it was GREAT! Time well spent.

This is a museum of letters written between all parties during the Civil war donated by the Pearce Family. Well worth the drive from D-FW. Located on the campus of Navarro College on Highway 31 & just west of Interstate 45. Also a room of western art (Paintings, sculptures, etc). Younger children will enjoy the film in Cook center Planetarium... More

It is a well kept secret. The presentations are stunning. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. One could easily spend a long time just taking in all of the exhibits. Great value. It is a family place with something for everyone. If you are in town you need to visit this place.

We found this museum to be a hidden gem. The tour guide walked with us through the displays and pointed out the most interesting facts of each display. We had time to wander on our own as well. It was fascinating to see and hear narratives of the battles and those who fought. Could have easily spent 3 hours here.... More

A great Corsicana attraction. I have been there numerous times and have learned something new about the history of the Civil War each time I am there. The museum itself, is respectfully presented in a balance of historical perspective to the visitor, and makes you think you have been drawn into Ken Burns celebrated PBS presentation of that heartbreaking era...
