This museum is wonderful, you can spend hours here & the price is right "free" except if you want to see the special exhibits...Since we were visiting Dallas the musuem portion was more than enough to see.

It's free for majority of the exhibits, but it's just so much to see so why even pay? Not much to say, it's an museum. But if you visit, please go to the African exhibit! It's one of kind and worth the experience! 🙃

At the time of writing this the DMA has free general admission, and has a very active calendar of events that includes staying open late on Thursday nights. The museum is large enough and diverse enough that you can spend all day there. Note that Klyde Warren Park in across the street and there are always tasty food trucks parked... More

The permanent collection here is impressive, and it is absolutely free to see. But the special exhibits that come through are really world class. The building and the grounds are fantastic, especially the barrel vaulted great room and the sculpture garden. It's a nice trolley ride to or from Uptown (also free), or walk across from Klyde Warren park.

The silver collection on the 4th Floor is not to be missed. There is a nice sampling of art form various periods and cultures in this sprawling, often confusing building. Elevators and stairs don't always get you where you want to go and the available pamphlets did not help much. The museum is free to the public, so you can... More

The entry to the museum itself is free which is great. There is quite a lot to discover inside - almost like a mini Louvre. Perfect place to spend some time on a cold rainy day.

Enjoyed this visit to DMA...highly recommended! Even the cafeteria food was good and the Chihuly collection could be enjoyed while dining.

The museum is very nice. And, free. The Reves collection is reminiscent of the Barnes exhibit in Philadelphia. Not as extensive as the Barnes but in the asme style. A unique collection of Impressionist painters, iron work, antiques, and statues. It is nice imaging that one has the ability to create a foyer with a Van Gogh, and a Rodin... More

This museum is a bit different from typical art museums because they not only have the traveling art collections but they have displays of modern art and occasionally local artists...they also have a kids area where kids can pretend they are an artist and sketch a sculpture! Also other arts and crafts for kids that they loved and didn't want... More
