Attended a tasting and "cooking competition" a la Iron Chef and other cooking shows, the "IRON FORK" ... Sponsored by Whole Foods Market and the Dallas Observer. It was held in the Centennial Hall on the fair grounds. The event itself was a lot of fun, the many restaurants offering small bites of featured dishes - everything from sushi to... More

All of the travel guides say that this is a good place to visit, to check out the great collection of Art Deco buidings, etc. Our experience of trying to make that visit was devalued a great deal by the existence of some ethnic heritage festival going on at the time, and by the inability to find where we were... I spent a day and a half at conference preceding the consumer EarthTX 2017 event at Dallas Fair Park. I did not stay for the consumer portion of the weekend. The conference was excellent (E-capital Summit at EarthTX 2017) but the facilities are not very condusive for a business event. The buildings are aging, locations are spread out which requires... Beginning late September through October, the State Fair of Texas plays hosts to rides, vendors of all types, and even some of the newest innovations. Fletcher's corny dogs a re must try for newbies. And there is always some new type of fried food that you would never think of frying yourself - nor could you likely do it.

Visiting in March, there are only a couple of nice children oriented museums open but it was a very nice stroll around the lagoon and seeing the many Exposition era buildings. It is accessible by DART but much better if you have a car.

Every fall, North Texans and beyond descend on Fair Park to partake in the culinary delights, as well as the fun activities and exhibits of the State Fair of Texas. Don't miss the Bird Show, and you might even enjoy the pig races! Fletcher's Corny Dogs is a must, and maybe a turkey leg and a big ice-cold root beer... More

Another fabulous outing at Fair Park. All things considered this a great place to visit year around. Parking can be cumbersome so you may want to try the DART train system or a bus. Plenty of security private and public but not overbearing at all. The crowds are always well behaved, generally. It is always special for us to attend... More

The state fair is so much fun! It can get pricey but there are a lot of special discount days that save a lot of money. The fair runs in Late September-early October but it is Dallas so the weather can get quite hot. The fair is always crowded but usually not as much during the week. Theres plenty to see.... More
