The largest zoological experience in Texas, the 106-acre Dallas Zoo offers...

The largest zoological experience in Texas, the 106-acre Dallas Zoo offers fun, educational and entertaining experiences for the whole family. The Zoo's mission is to inspire a passion for nature and conserve wildlife, and guests can see a number of endangered species and learn about a variety of conservation projects the Dallas Zoo supports. Opened in 2010, our award-winning Giants of the Savanna habitat is internationally known. The savanna features elephants, ostrich, zebras, impalas, giraffes, and guineafowl, often mingling together. The Dallas Zoo is home to a herd of five female elephants and 11 giraffes, which guests can feed by hand. Guests will see the fastest land mammal on Earth, the cheetah, as well as African lions who often spend their days sleeping just inches away from the viewing wall inside the Serengeti Grill restaurant. The Wilds of Africa area features rare animals such as gorillas, chimpanzees and okapi. Guests will enjoy getting eye-to-eye with African penguins as they swim effortlessly underwater. Highlights of the ZooNorth section include the Lacerte Family Children's Zoo, a top-rated reptile and amphibian complex featuring albino alligators, and the Koala Walkabout, featuring the only koalas in Texas, red kangaroo, wallabies, and a lorikeet feeding area for up-close adventures. For alternative transportation to the Dallas Zoo, consider the DART Red Line, which delivers guests to the Zoo's front entrance.

great zoo

This was a good zoo, however I expected A LOT more being that it is in a big city like Dallas! Tons of animals as expected however this place could be bigger and better!

I absolutely loved this zoo/aquarium! The exhibits are stunning and it is a very clean well maintained place! I highly recommend seeing if in Dallas/Fort Worth area! Well worth the entrance fee!

My adult daughter and I spent 4 hours at the zoo today and had a great experience. This is a really well done zoo, in my opinion. Every staff we ran into was friendly and knowledgeable, eager to answer questions and share their info about the animals. I've never been so close to so many animals in one zoo day... More

My two children (6&4) and I went on a Saturday. It was fantastic! We bought a family membership and look forward to many more visits this year. Feeding the giraffes was a highlight for us.

We live close to Fossil Rim, also frequently visit the FW Zoo so I tend to not have very high expectations for animal places because I figure we are spoiled with having some of the best nearby. That being said, the Dallas Zoo was fantastic. It's huge, beautiful, clean, large variety. The workers made it very educational for both myself... More

We had a great zoo trip. Rented a motorized chair for my mom and it helped so much. The price was only 7.00 each and we made some great memories.

Wow has this zoo improved. Came in the 90 's and it was just sad. Not anymore. The giraffe feeding and grounds were awesome. The elephants had a very large area unlike before. The monorail was fun and safe for little ones. We had a group of 20 kids. Will come back.

The elephant habitat is enormous and the animals seem happily frolicking. The baby elephant was so adorable. There's a big cheetah exhibit with sibling cheetahs which we learned a lot about from the zoo keepers. They're expanding the zoo to have a hippo habitat and that looks cool. I do wish that the cats had bigger habitats. :(
