Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On the east side of Central Expressway are the less expensive but nontheless good independent eateries. On the west side skip the two chain restaurants and try ANY of the other restaurants that are mostly within a stone's throw of each other. My favorite is Toulouse...a very Paris experience.

The Knox side is a pretty village like area with restaurants and a great frozen custard place that's been there forever. The Henderson side has several outdoor patio restaurants that are more separated and less conducive to walking like the Knox side. Both sides have a laid back vibe.

All kinds of shopping and food options in this neighborhood. Note that Knox is on the western side of 75 and Henderson is on the eastern side. Food options range from inexpensive to very high end. This is a popular place to hang out. Henderson spreads from the edge of McMillan and Henderson to 75, whereas Knox is more compact with extensions on McKinney, Cole, and Travis. My favorite thing to do on the Henderson side is go to Barcadia, play Jenga, and have a jalopena burger. The Knox side has some well known stores such as Pottery Barn and several chain restaurants. There are also local restaurants--the Highland Park soda shop is great! Your standard old-fashioned soda fountain. If you're looking for furniture then Weir's is fabulous. They also have a penny candy shop and a post office, so even if you're not looking for good furniture at great prices, it's still fun to shop there.

I hate to give a poor review when the idea behind Again and Again is amazing. Unfortunately, I took a very expensive vintage tapestry I purchased in Spain to them to have turned into pillow. They 'lost' it. At some point they told me they 'found' it. They 'lost' it again. I have finally (after two years) concluded that perhaps they accidentally sold it! I don't have my tapestry or pillow, I have not been compensated for my loss, the owner avoids speaking with me or responding to e-mails, phone calls and requests and has provided the worst customer service to me. I had previously spent a fortune at again and again and I used to refer multitudes of professional contacts to them and yet the owner will not call me, apologize, or compensate me for my loss. Even worse,at the time I dropped off the tapestry I purchased two chairs from the store to have re-covered. I paid somewhere between $800-1200 for the pair but they were never redone and I also believe these chars may have been 'accidentally' sold again to someone else. Yes, again and again is a good name then for this store. They either lose things again and again or they resell the same item in their shop again and again to others. I entered a complaint with the BBB but this company refused to respond. I just can't understand the lack of urgency, lack of responsiveness and the lack of customer service I have received. :(

For out of towners, this area is very confusing. Parking is very limited. Not sure I would come back and try to figure this out. It is definitely for the younger generation.

There are a couple of restaurants I like here, a Sushi place and a Cuban place. I am thinking that doesn't help my fans out there, however. I'll try to find the names and edit this post later, if they allow it.

if you go to Henderson Street on the north side of the street past all the wonderfully funky SMU and trendy watering holes, nightspots and other great restaurants there are some funky places to get vintage furniture and other assorted collectables. One of them is called Again and Again. Check it out. Also if you want wonderful Mexican go to Cafe San Miguel further down on Henderson. Next door is another vintage furniture store that also has some vintage art pieces from time to time. These places are closer to Ross street which intersects Henderson on the far East side.

This is a fun area of town. It is near SMU so in the evenings it is more of a college scene but during the day it is a great place to shop for yourself or your home as there are some great decor stores there. I love the specialized clothings stores for all tastes. For those that love vintage, Vintage Martini is a MUST!! This store was actually featured in the first few scenes of the first episode of The Real Housewives of Dallas that that is because it truly is a place the "seen and be seen" set will shop but anyone can love it as there are cool items there for every budget. I've been going there for years. As for eating, I LOVE Velvet Taco. They have the most unique tacos for everyone! It's very casual with a texas flare. Reminds me of someplace I would see in Austin. It has the kind of vibe and is great for lunch or dinner, families, friends or a date. Parking in the Knox-Henderson area is something I have never had a problem finding but it can get a bit congested in the evenings when the club scene starts. There is so much more, I'm just trying to give you an idea. Enjoy!

This is a wonderful area of Dallas with many unique restaurants and shops. There are a few chains here, but overall some great dinning. Parking can be a bit difficult at times, but overall worth it! Close to downtown and Uptown area!
